Young Earth Creation means the Earth is less than 10,000 years old. The biblical genealogies and historical records support this belief. I now advocate for the Septuagint's chronology as more reliable than the Masoretic Text, which has been corrupted. It follows then that the age of the Earth is about 7,580 years.

I model the decrease in human lifespans after the Flood due to a combination of factors beginning at the Curse, including divine sustainment, loss of physiological resilience and changes in Earth's environment. Current research indicates a hard limit on human lifespan due to physiological resilience limitations.

According to Benjamin Franklin two things are inevitable: death and taxes. Research shows that human lifespan has a natural limitation, due to the decline of physiological resilience. Day 2 of creation, with a focus on the expanse (the firmament), is outlined. The Hebrew word ‘raqiya’ refers to a separation of waters above and below the expanse. The implications of this for the Kuiper Belt and the great deluge are discussed.
