If you're thinking about upgrading your phone, "the best time was yesterday," according to Nothing CEO and co-founder Carl Pei, echoing a message we heard during MWC. As Android Authority reports, Pei said in a post on X that the RAM shortage has already impacted Nothing's less expensive mid-range phone: "For Phone 4A , memory costs doubled between when we decided to build the device and when it launched. They've doubled again since." He warned that "Phone prices are going up, and they'll keep going up into next year."
Pei says RAM can now account for over 50 percent of the cost of a new phone. Nothing's just the latest phone maker to warn …

Elon Musk's SpaceX IPO will probably make him the richest person to ever walk the planet. And while his mountain of horrible personal conduct could fill multiple books, one fact in particular stands out: A year ago, Musk's actions directly led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. He did it knowingly. And, worse - gleefully.
This is not a serious person, but his abuse of the world is deadly serious. In the first months of President Donald Trump's second term, the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) destroyed the US Agency for International Development, whose mission was a boon to public health around the globe. M …
You'd be forgiven for thinking this day would never come. Siri has spent a decade and half somewhere between "sort of useful at a few things" and "utterly disastrous, why did I even try, can it honestly not even set a timer." But the wildest thing just happened: Apple put out a new version of Siri, and it actually seems to be pretty good.
On this episode of The Vergecast, David and Nilay talk about their early experiences with Siri AI, and what it means for users, and the rest of the AI industry, for the iPhone's built-in assistant to be good enough at most things. There's very little about Siri AI that feels bleeding edge or brand new, but …
Elon Musk is now officially the world's first trillionaire. That is a colossal amount of wealth (and by proxy, power) for one individual to have. Its scale - a thousand times more than a billion - is difficult to fathom for those of us who aren't among the 3,363 billionaires that currently exist in our world. But let's try to comprehend it anyway.
The most frequently cited comparison is time. If you were to count out a million seconds, it would take you 11 and a half days. A billion seconds would take you 31.7 years. But a trillion seconds would take 31,700 years - to reach that point today, you would have needed to start counting in the Pa …
Elon Musk's net worth has passed the trillion-dollar mark after SpaceX's IPO. His net worth, which was hovering around $800 billion before the IPO, includes the value of his 4.8 billion shares in SpaceX, along with his wealth from his other companies, like Tesla. Shares of SPCX opened at $150 and have remained well above the $138 benchmark that gives Musk a 13-figure net worth.
SpaceX combined Musk's rocket, AI, and social media platforms earlier this year, and said in its S-1 that its goal is to "build the systems and technologies necessary to make life multiplanetary, to understand the true nature of the universe, and to extend the light …
You see a lot of interesting phones when you're among tech journalists.
I'm thinking of two in particular that I held this past week: One was solid gold, with ornate engravings. It was elaborately embellished, heavy - an actual work of art. The other was the Trump phone.
I know. The Trump phone. The one announced almost a year ago that has shipped to almost nobody. But when you asso …
Whether you’re planning a backyard barbeque or a World Cup watch party, Govee’s Table Lamp Classic can help set the mood with color-changing lighting effects. Right now it’s down to just $59.99 ($20 off) at Amazon, which is its best price yet.
The rechargeable lamp can last up to 30 hours on a single charge, so it should have enough power to last for multiple hangouts. It’s easy to carry to wherever you need a little extra light. Just bear in mind the lamp isn’t weather resistant, so you’ll want to keep it away from the pool and bring it inside if it’s going to rain. It’s also not particularly bright, shining at up to 500 lumens at peak brightness.
The lamp supports adjustable color temperatures ranging from a warm 2700K glow to a cooler 6500K. It also offers dozens of preset scenes and colorful lighting effects — even one that can sync to your music. If you want something more personalized, Govee’s app even lets you generate custom lighting effects with AI.
Better yet, you don’t have to leave your seat to make changes. The lamp supports Matter and works with major smart home platforms, allowing you to control it with your voice or through Govee’s app.

JBL’s Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker is on sale in gray for $79.95 ($70 off) at Woot with a 90-day warranty, which is its best price to date. The speaker is rugged, with an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating, plus it can double as a power bank, making it a great companion for outdoor adventures. It can last up to 28 hours on a single charge, and delivers good sound quality via Bluetooth. The Charge 6 supports lossless audio playback over USB-C.
The Moto Tag is on sale for $19.99 ($10 off) at Amazon, which matches its all-time low and is the best price we’ve seen since February. The excellent Bluetooth tracker works with Google’s Find Hub network and stands out from other Android-friendly alternatives by offering ultra-wideband support. On compatible phones like Samsung’s Galaxy S26, that means it can help you track down misplaced items with precise, turn-by-turn-style guidance, similar to Apple’s AirTag.
The Keurig K-Elite Single Serve Coffee Maker is down to just $99.99 (about $110 off) with code HAPPYDAD at Keurig, which is its best price of the year and $10 shy of its all-time low. The machine can brew five cup sizes from four to twelve ounces and features an iced coffee setting that starts with a hotter brew to extract more flavor from the K-Cup before cooling things down so as to not melt your ice completely. It also comes with a large 75-ounce water reservoir allowing you to make up to eight cups before having to refill, along with an on-demand hot water function for tea and oatmeal.
SpaceX’s IPO on Friday allows the public to buy shares of the combined rocket, AI, and social media company for the first time, and raised enough money to make Elon Musk the first trillionaire.
He has more wealth, on paper at least, than the economies of nations like Ireland, Sweden, or his home country of South Africa (CNN cites the International Monetary Fund saying only 20 countries have economies larger than $1.1 trillion), now linked to the promise of a business based on launching AI datacenters into space.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos says his new AI startup will work toward developing an "artificial general engineer," according to reports from The New York Times and CNBC. The startup, called Prometheus, aims to develop AI-powered engineering tools to aid in the design of physical products.
The NYT first reported on Prometheus last November, but now Bezos is sharing more information about the startup after a $12 billion funding round, putting the company at a $41 billion valuation. Bezos serves as co-CEO of Prometheus alongside Vik Bajaj, who co-founded Alphabet's health-focused research group, Verily. The startup currently has around 150 employ …
In one of the most highly anticipated and controversial public offerings of all time, the rocket venture helmed by Elon Musk started trading on Nasdaq on June 12th at the take-it-or-leave-it price of $135-per-share - though most retail investors will likely pay far more.
The IPO is historic for many reasons: SpaceX is hoping to raise $75 billion under the ticker symbol SPCX, which would make it the largest public offering in history. The company is controlled by Musk, who also runs Tesla, another trillion-dollar company. The IPO is expected to make Musk, who is set to control 85 percent of the voti …
Summer is approaching, which means it's time to enjoy some gloriously warm weather beside the grill. But let me pitch you on an alternative: Instead of the usual burgers, hot dogs, and kebabs, what if you made pizza? I've been doing this for a few years now, and while I still love to grill, it no longer compares to pulling pies from my Ooni Fyra 12.
A pizza oven previously seemed to me like something reserved for staunch enthusiasts. I never would have considered buying one myself, because for many years I believed that I hated pizza - the British food landscape wasn't exactly rife with good options during my childhood, in my defense. But a …
Just in time for Le Mans, BMW is pulling the cover off its new M performance concept built on the Bavarian automaker's Neue Klasse next-generation architecture.
The concept is the debut of a new design language for BMW's M division, signaling a shift toward a more electrified future. The company says it is built on the guiding principle "Born on the racetrack. Made for the streets," bridging BMW's motorsports heritage with its next-generation EV technology.
Marketing bromides aside, the new concept is a two-door sedan with powerful proportions, precise lines, wide wheel arches, and a muscular shoulder section. It's also an introduction to …
Even with the looming specter of rising prices, there's never been a better time for portable gaming. The Steam Deck has ushered in a new era of handheld PCs, the Analogue Pocket and other Game Boy-style remakes are making retro games more approachable than ever, the Playdate has led to an alternate universe of weirdo portable titles, and Nintendo continues to chug along with the latest iteration of the Switch. If you want to play games on the go, you're spoiled for choice. But if you're planning on doing some traveling and want to bring games along with you, I'd actually recommend none of those devices. There's a much better, and older, opt …
The sun is out, the sky is clear. It’s time to get outside and disconnect — from work, at least. This summer, we’re looking at all the ways to upgrade our free time indoors and out, from smart lights for the backyard to great gadgets to bring camping to ways to wind down at the local library.
It's intended for camping, but BougeRV's T1 light is so versatile that it also makes for a great summer travel companion that'll continue to light the dark corners of your life long after you return. I used it for a few months during a recent road trip in my camper van, and it's the light I keep reaching for again and again now that I'm home.
The telescoping light features three articulating LED arms that together direct up to 3,000 lumens of white, warm, or red light in any direction you want. It can illuminate an area over 1,000 square feet and function as a flashlight, a mood light, and a 57Wh USB-C power bank that can deliver up to 30W …
‘Listen, that's not what I'm here for.' | Image: Apple
Our early testing has already shown that Siri AI knows when to shut up, and that's very much by design. In an interview with Mostly Humanspotted by MacRumors, Craig Federighi said Apple's new Siri won't act all sycophantic like chatbots made by OpenAI, Google, and others.
"As you may know, if you use many of the existing chatbots, they're really focused on engagement to a large degree," said Federighi, who is responsible for software at Apple. "And sycophancy, right? They kind of want to pull you in. They might encourage you to reveal things about yourself, and then use that as a basis to establish a connection."
Amazon's rolling out a free software update for Echo Hub devices that gives the homescreen a much-needed update to the interface it launched with in 2024. It had already added Alex Plus AI support, but the new interface has a cleaner, fully customizable layout that fits more smart home info and controls on the screen than the previous version.
The Echo Hub is also getting access to Ring AI's Video Search feature that lets you use natural language to search through your smart home camera footage, as well as Alexa Plus summaries of detected camera events.
These are the five new features Amazon highlighted for the Echo Hub:
The platform-agnostic Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse is discounted to $89.99 at Amazon ($30 off), matching the best price we’ve seen so far this year. While it may look like a somewhat ordinary mouse, it has a unique second scroll wheel near the left thumb that’s surprisingly useful for horizontal scrolling in spreadsheets. You can connect the mouse to Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, and Linux systems using either Bluetooth or the included USB-A 2.4GHz wireless adapter.
Logitech MX Master 3S
The MX Master 3S is a favorite among many Verge staff members because of its comfort and customization. The mouse’s thumb rest and curved shape allow you to grip it comfortably, and its side and top button can be remapped within the Logi Options Plus app, which can save you time. The MX Master 3S can be connected via Bluetooth, via its included 2.4GHz receiver, or wired with its USB-C cable.
This mouse has six buttons in all, and they’re impressively quiet and customizable through Logitech’s software. The company claims its USB-C rechargeable battery lasts for about 70 days of use, though it ran down slightly faster than that in our review. It’s not really an issue, though, since you can use it while it charges.
The newer $119.99 Logitech MX Master 4 has haptic feedback that triggers when you press the thumb rest. It’s cool, but the feature (plus a few other minor improvements to the MX Master formula) might not be worth paying $30 more to get.
You can save on a big set of outdoor security cameras ahead of Prime Day. Amazon has a five-pack of Blink cameras with a video doorbell included that’s marked down to $166.99. The bundle includes a Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+, five Blink Outdoor 2K+ cameras, and a Blink Sync Module Core. The doorbell is typically $70, and each camera generally retails between $80 and $100, so you’re saving at least $200 by grabbing them all in the set.
The video doorbell captures video in 1920 x 1920 with a 140- degree field of view, and can last for months on three AA batteries. On the other hand, each outdoor camera shoots at 2560 x 1440 with a 135 degree field of view, and Blink claims that two AA batteries can power a camera for up to two years. Both the doorbell and outdoor cameras feature color night vision in low light and two-way audio.
One important thing to note is that the Sync Module included with this bundle is the basic Core version. If you want to save video locally, you’ll need to upgrade to the $49.99 Sync Module 2. Alternatively, you could pay for a cloud storage plan that starts at $11.99 per month. It includes video storage for up to 60 days. The free plan only supports live viewing and motion notifications.

Roborock’s Q10 S5 Plus comes with a self-emptying dock and is under $300. | Image: Roborock
Even at full price, the Roborock Q10 S5 Plus offers impressive value, boasting features typically reserved for pricier robovac models at a fraction of the price. That’s especially true today. It’s down to just $269.99 ($280 off) at Wellbots when you apply promo code NEW10, which matches its all-time low and is the best price we’ve seen since Black Friday last year. If you prefer a different retailer, you can also buy it at Amazon and directly from Robovac for $10 more.
The robovac is one of our top picks if you’re on a budget, with good AI-powered obstacle detection and navigation that helps it clean around clutter without getting stuck. It also boasts automatic carpet detection and a mop that can lift itself over rugs, so you don’t need to worry about carpets getting wet. The flat vibrating mop pad also impressed us in testing and is particularly gentle on delicate floors, able to scrub away dirt effectively without leaving them soaked. When it finishes cleaning, the included dock automatically empties the robovac’s dustbin and recharges the bot, reducing the amount of maintenance required.
Of course, there are some compromises Roborock made to keep costs down. Unlike Roborock’s much pricier $1,600 Saros 20, the Q10 S5 Plus can’t climb taller thresholds, and its 10,000Pa suction isn’t nearly as powerful as the Saros’ 36,000Pa system. The dock also lacks conveniences like automatic mop washing and water-tank refilling, meaning you’ll still need to handle those tasks yourself. Still, for under $300, it’s hard to complain given everything else the Q10 S5 Plus brings to the table.
