Apple brings AppleCare One to the UK, streamlining coverage

Apple brings AppleCare One to the UK, giving customers a new way to cover multiple Apple products with one simple plan.
Apple brings AppleCare One to the UK, giving customers a new way to cover multiple Apple products with one simple plan.

Apple on Monday announced AppleCare One β€” a new way for customers to protect multiple Apple devices under one simple plan β€” is available in the UK. Starting at Β£16.99 per month, AppleCare One covers up to three products, with the flexibility to add more at any time for Β£4.99 per month per device.

With AppleCare One, customers receive comprehensive, one-stop service and support from Apple experts across every product in their plan β€” delivering affordable peace of mind. Beginning August 4th, customers in the UK can sign up for AppleCare One at apple.com or their nearest Apple Store. Those who already have an AppleCare+ plan can also sign up directly on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

β€œAt Apple, we’re focused on creating and delivering exceptional experiences,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in a statement. β€œWith AppleCare One, customers in the UK can now enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+ in a way that’s simpler and more flexible than ever before β€” one plan, one price, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all their eligible products can be covered.”

One Plan, Incredible Value

AppleCare One includes all the benefits of AppleCare+, including fast and unlimited repairs for accidental damage, battery replacement service, and 24/7 priority access to Apple experts. All repairs are performed using genuine Apple parts at Apple Store locations and the vast network of Apple Authorised Service Providers.

Customers can enroll their eligible Apple products in the plan for the same great price, meaning a customer protecting their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together can save up to Β£11.48 per month compared to maintaining separate AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans for each device.

Protect Already-Owned Eligible Devices

AppleCare One gives customers greater flexibility to protect the devices they already have. Eligible products that are up to four years old can be added to a plan, provided they are in good condition, opening up coverage well beyond the current 60-day window to purchase AppleCare+.

Coverage That Evolves with Users

AppleCare One is built to keep pace with customers’ changing needs. When customers upgrade by trading in a covered product and purchasing a new product directly from Apple, the old product is automatically removed from the plan and replaced with the new device β€” so customers never have to think twice about staying protected. And as a monthly subscription, AppleCare One makes it simple to maintain coverage across as many products as customers want, for as long as they want, with the ability to add or remove devices from their plan at any time.

AppleCare+ Plans Add Theft and Loss Coverage for iPad and Apple Watch

Alongside the launch of AppleCare One, Apple is also bringing AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss to iPad and Apple Watch in the UK. The single-device plan option is now available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, protecting customers against up to two incidents of theft or loss per year on top of battery replacement service, priority support from Apple experts, and unlimited repairs for accidental damage.

Next UK Prime Minister Drops Digital ID Scheme

18 July 2026 at 23:17
Reuters reports: Incoming British prime minister Andy Burnham will scrap the government's troubled plans for a digital ID scheme when he enters office on Monday, a spokesperson for the new Labour Party leader said. Resources devoted to the scheme, deemed a "fiasco" by a cross-party committee of lawmakers, will be redirected to Burnham's priorities, the spokesperson said... "All the time and resource that was going to be spent on a national ID scheme will go instead to where it's most needed, such as helping with the cost of living," Burnham's spokesperson said. In November, the Office for Budget Responsibility watchdog estimated the cost of the digital ID scheme at around Β£1.8 billion ($2.4 billion) between financial years 2026/27 and 2028/29.

UK Police Officer Accused of Using AI to Fake Evidence

14 June 2026 at 05:34
The Sunday Times reports: A criminal investigation has begun after a police officer allegedly used AI to create evidential material in a "number of cases". Derbyshire Constabulary said an officer was being investigated over an allegation of suspected perverting the course of justice. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed it was engaging with defence lawyers and the courts over potentially affected cases... It is the first known allegation of AI misuse by police in a criminal case in the UK, but it follows an incident last year in which West Midlands police relied on AI-generated material that fabricated a match involving Maccabi Tel Aviv. The material was used in intelligence supporting a proposed ban on away fans at the club's match against Aston Villa.

A question for Nigel Farage – why is your nationalist party so obsessed with destroying British jobs? | George Monbiot

10 June 2026 at 08:00

The net zero economy is booming, so claims that prosperity depends on oil and gas are bunkum – unless you’re a Reform backer with fossil fuel interests, of course

Really? You want to destroy a million jobs? Vote Reform UK for mass unemployment: is that your pitch? Hammer these questions home whenever you meet a supporter of the party. Or, for that matter, a Conservative, as their party now takes an almost identical line.

The figures are stark. They were compiled not by Just Stop Oil or the Green party, but by that bastion of conservatism, the Confederation of British Industry. They show that the net zero economy now directly employs more than 300,000 full-time workers, while supporting the jobs of 1.1 million. The net zero sector is worth Β£100bn to the UK already, and is likely to grow by hundreds of billions more. The rest of the green economy directly employs a further 600,000.

UK | Digital ID Commences, the Country Collapses

9 December 2025 at 03:24
The UK has initiated a digital ID system required for employment, paralleling increased online censorship through the Online "Safety" Act. Protests against these authoritarian measures are suppressed, warning of potential totalitarianism in Europe. The U.S. must resist similar oppression to safeguard free speech. Australia faces similar controls starting December 10, 2025.
