Seeing the red 'limited-time deal' banner on some DDR5 RAM at Amazon should elicit some excitement given the rarity of price cuts lately. But when you click through and see the price for this 32GB Corsair Vengeance kit, you'll wonder if there's genuinely a deal here at all — and other wannabe buyers aren't wholly convinced, either.
"It's 'only' 4x the price it should be," wrote one user named Technikal on HotUKDeals, a community that shares deals from across the web and asks the community to vote whether they think they are hot or cold. "The current average is 5x," he continues, "so, in that sense it's a good deal...I guess."
A muted response, that's for sure. And while it may be true that the deal price of the RAM kit is technically one of the lowest prices available right now, it's so far from the much lower prices we saw before the RAM crisis turned buying memory for your PC into a depressing exercise.
The price for this specific RAM kit has increased dramatically over the last 12 months at Amazon. (Image credit: Future / Keepa)
In fact, even just a year ago, this very same RAM kit was available for £99.99 when it wasn't even on sale, according to price history information from Keepa.
Given that, it's no surprise that shoppers have reacted negatively to Amazon's flash deal. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't look like things are getting any better when it comes to RAM prices. A report from Samsung suggests the RAM crisis is just getting started, and it could extend to other components in the near future.
Sadly, the news is grim, and these prices could be with us for a while yet. So, yes, it may be difficult to feel happy about seeing supposed RAM deals like this, but from what I'm seeing and hearing, I don't think they're going to get any better, either.
Amazon has launched a limited-time deal on a set of much-sought-after Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL36 RAM — the sweet spot for most PC gaming builds. Even though you could technically argue this is a deal, as it's the lowest price we've seen in months, it's still astronomically more expensive than the record-lows of under £100 from last year. However, with the ongoing PC component price crisis showing no signs of ending, this is likely one of the better offers we'll see for some time.View Deal
Bose just announced its second-generation version of the iconic QuietComfort Headphones, and as if to celebrate, it's just discounted the majority of its existing headphones and earbuds. Are these deals any good, or should you just go with the new model? Let's dig in and find out.
The closest point of comparison we have to the new model is the previous version, and you can now pick up the original Bose QuietComfort Headphones at Amazon for $229 (was $359). This is the standard sale price outside of a major event, and is a considerable $50 more than the previous record-low price that I spotted during Prime Day in June.
Elsewhere, the five-star-rated Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are down to $249 (was $299). That's a return to the lowest price this year, so a good chance to pick them up for less if you've missed previous offers. Again, these have been $50 cheaper during last year's Black Friday, so I'd expect a similar offer to return in a few months, but such a big discount like that is rare for these buds.
So, it's a mixed bag of offers. I'm not surprised that many of the record-low prices aren't making an appearance in this current Bose sale, but there are still some strong savings on several of the manufacturer's top headphones and earbuds that I'd snap up if you don't have the patience to wait until November.
Today's 5 best Bose deals at Amazon
The second-generation model has now been revealed, but the original Bose QuietComfort Headphones remain a top choice if you want quality noise-cancelling headphones at a mid-range price. I've been using a pair for a long time now and rate them highly, while our expert testers also scored them an impressive four stars in our review. You get excellent noise cancellation, top-tier audio quality, and 24 hours of battery life in a surprisingly affordable package.View Deal
The fantastic Bose QuestComfort Ultra Headphones have remained available at this price since Prime Day in June, so it's effectively the new standard price for this model. These offer a clear step up in audio compared to other premium cans, with superbly detailed and energetic sound and the best noise cancellation you can get right now, in a light and comfortable design.View Deal
Bose's affordable earbuds offer top-tier active noise cancellation, but without a massive price tag. Just be aware that I have seen them for $20 less than this before. Still, in our 4.5-star Bose QuietComfort Earbuds review, we said they were already "arguably best-in-class value" at full price, so the fact that you can get them for even less makes them hard to beat. We praised their comfort and sound quality as well as the amazing ANC.View Deal
The second-generation version of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are some of the manufacturer's best in terms of audio quality and noise cancellation — so good, in fact, that we awarded them the full five stars in our review. This latest model lasts up to 24 hours between both the buds and the case and features new CustomTune technology that adjusts the audio based on your ear shape. The Spatial Audio also makes the listening experience more immersive than ever with the option to swap between listening modes, depending on if you want to lose yourself in audio or stay alert.View Deal
These unique earbuds from Bose are back to a record-low price and well worth the money if you prefer the open-ear design, which allows you to be more aware of your surroundings while listening to music or taking calls. The impressive sound is delivered through comfortable headphones, which can be worn all day. They also boast up to 7.5 hours of playtime, which will be more than enough for most people.View Deal
It's time once more for yet another look through this weekend's best tech deals at Amazon UK. While there are far fewer offers right now compared to during major sales events, there are still some solid bargains up for grabs. I've picked out the 11 best deals I'd recommend.
With back-to-school season upon us, there are some strong laptop deals up for grabs, with several great picks if you need a new device for the year ahead. My standout is this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 for £499.99 (was £699.99), as it offers a solid set of specs for the price. There's an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive — everything you need for capable all-around performance.
Another popular pick is the Philips OneBlade 360 for £36.99 (was £54.99). This was a best-seller during Prime Day, so if you missed it during last month's sale, here's another chance to pick one up for a great price.
I've highlighted several more deals below on tech, appliances, and more, so do check them out if you're looking to treat yourself to a little shopping this weekend.
There's a terrific combination of specs for the price in this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5, including an Intel i5 processor, a performance-boosting 16GB of RAM and a large 1TB SSD. Even though some components are older now, these can still make work and everyday tasks a breeze. You also get the huge benefit of a larger 16-inch display that makes this ideal if you prefer a bigger screen size and don't need an easily portable option.View Deal
The Philips OneBlade 360 is a quick, simple and affordable electric razor that's suitable for a wide variety of face and body grooming needs. This jam-packed bundle was a little cheaper over Prime Day, but today's offer is still a solid one. This bundle includes the handle, as well as one spare blade, an adjustable comb, and a USB-A charging cable.View Deal
Get the highly rated Renpho smart scale on sale for under £20 this weekend. The smart scale has over 300,000 reviews on Amazon and holds a solid 4.6-star rating. You can use this smart device to measure your body fat ratio, BMI, and weight via the Renpho app.View Deal
The Ninja Blast Portable Blender is a powerful all-in-one portable blender — and it's now got a small price cut at Amazon. It has a 530ml container with a leakproof lid and sip spout, while the carry handle means you can take it with you to the gym or on your walks. It’s capable of blending ice and frozen fruit, as well as any liquids and powders, while one charge gives you up to two hours of battery life.View Deal
I actually bought a Levoit Core Mini for myself when moving into a new house that hadn't been lived in for a while to get rid of the dust and debris, and I also think it works as a great option for any allergy problems. What I like most is that it's small and quiet, so it is perfect for all sorts of spaces, such as the living room and bedroom. It's now also very affordable at 20% off.View Deal
Lenovo's more premium handheld gaming PC just dropped to its lowest-ever price on Amazon. It offers fantastic power and performance with an AMD Ryzen Z2 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an 8.8-inch OLED display. Running on Windows 11 is a little clunkier than the smoother SteamOS, but it is an extremely capable, top-end handheld gaming experience that will run most titles with ease and with minimal tinkering in the graphics settings. It's also much better value for money after such a big discount.View Deal
The Ninja Luxe Café Pro is a professional-level coffee machine with a whopping number of different grind settings and many smart features elsewhere, too. You can keep your coffee warm after it’s brewed, while there are nine bars of pressure to get your coffee just how you like it to taste. A burr grinder provides the perfect consistency, and a clean function saves you from plenty of hassle. It has been around £50 cheaper before, but this is a strong deal outside of Black Friday.View Deal
The Dyson V8 is now older, but it remains one of the top affordable vacuums and also one of the best Dyson vacuums – period. This still more-than-capable vacuum comes with a couple of essential attachments for cleaning around the home. Given its age and basic features, it's a struggle to recommend it at its full price, but now that it's discounted so heavily at Amazon, it's an easy recommendation.View Deal
Ninja's recent space-saving air fryer is just £15 more than its lowest-ever price, which is still a bit of a steal for the popular and well-rated appliance. We loved it at TechRadar, scoring it full marks in our Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer review and even putting it in our best air fryer buying guide. Well-built and great-looking on any countertop, it offers five cooking levels across two drawers and two racks, while the 9.5L capacity is ideal for medium to big families.View Deal
This is far from the best laptop you can buy, but I can't deny that it's cheap. The specs are incredibly low-end, with an entry-level processor, only 4GB of RAM and a small 128GB hard drive. At least it's a Chromebook, which can get more from weaker components, but this is only a good buy if you want to spend very little money on a very basic machine for infrequent, light use.View Deal
The Google Pixel 10a is our pick for the best bargain phone for its balance between affordability and functionality. It features a Tensor G4 processor and a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which offers solid performance at this price point. You also get a Gorilla Glass 7i screen for better drop protection and scratch resistance. For £100 off, you can get this smooth and affordable smartphone for its lowest price yet, or save another £50 on top if you're OK with 128GB of storage.View Deal
The Shark Detect Clean & Empty Cordless Vacuum offers convenient automation features and versatile cleaning technology, including a special brushroll that works on both hardwood and carpeted surfaces. Its self-emptying dock doubles as a charging station, which makes it easy to keep fully charged, even though it runs for up to 40 minutes at full battery. For under £200, it's hard to pass up such a high-tech and highly rated vacuum.
Head on over to our best vacuum cleaner guide and you'll spot that Shark makes a couple of appearances. It's easily one of the top manufacturers if you want a powerful, reliable and affordable vacuum for your home. And now, one of its most advanced and convenient models just dropped to a great low price.
I've spotted the Shark Clean & Empty at Amazon for £199 (was £349.99), which is one of the lowest prices outside of Black Friday and only around £30 more than the previous record-low.
I've had a Shark vacuum for several years now, and no exaggeration, it was one of the best purchases I've made. With good battery life, time-saving anti-hair wrap tech and powerful cordless suction, it's made keeping my home tidier so much easier.
With all these features, and now an auto-empty charging base on the Clean & Empty, I can only imagine it'll be even more useful to prevent dust from flying everywhere when it's tipped into the bin.

Many of the key features are available in this cheaper version. However, you do miss out on the Detect mode, which automatically adapts suction and power to suit different surfaces and needs for better efficiency. It's not an enormous loss, in my eyes, especially as the anti-hair wrap tech and auto-empty charging base are still included in the standard Clean & Empty that's currently on sale.
If you're starting to plan for the upcoming school year and are finding your current laptop a little lacking, the good news is retailers have already launched some solid deals across a vast range of devices from the likes of Dell, Apple, Lenovo, HP, and more. So, I've taken a look and picked out what I think are eight of the best laptop deals if you're shopping for a new device for the year ahead.
I've taken a variety of budgets and needs into consideration: whether you want a cheap Chromebook for basic schoolwork and light use, or a powerful machine for more demanding needs.
One of the standouts has to be this Dell XPS 13 that drops to $599.99 with a student discount. That's a fantastic price for a brand-new version of one of our favorite laptops here at TechRadar, which boasts excellent all-around performance and a stylish design.
Apple fans will also want to check out the manufacturer's Education Store, which has just launched its college offer for the year. As well as special pricing on several devices, including the much-loved and impressive value MacBook Neo, you can also get gift cards of up to $150 on select Macs and iPads.
As someone who finds the best laptop deals regularly for TechRadar, you can browse all of my top picks below, and stick with TechRadar over the next few weeks for even more of our back-to-school coverage, featuring top tech recommendations and the best offers on must-have products.
If you want a cheap Windows laptop, then I think this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i is a good value-for-money option for basic needs. I like it as a simple and effective device for school or college, with enough power for browsing, word processing, and other general admin tasks.View Deal
If storage is important to you, then I think this HP OmniBook 3 could be worth the price, as it features a 512GB SSD — something I don't regularly see at this price. Of course, that means some compromises have been made elsewhere, with a slightly weaker Ryzen 3 CPU and only 8GB of RAM. Still, that's perfectly fine for light use. Just be aware that the larger 17-inch form factor makes it a less portable option, too.View Deal
If you want a flexible device that's just as easy to use for work and admin jobs as well as casual web browsing and streaming media, then this Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 14 is an excellent buy. It mainly features entry-to-mid-level components, but there's enough power to keep up with light daily use. Plus, you get the added benefit of a versatile 14-inch touchscreen, effectively giving you a laptop and tablet in one.View Deal
Display: 13 inches Processor: A18 Pro RAM: 8GB Storage: 256GB
The MacBook Neo just got a price bump, but students can get it cheaper again thanks to Apple's education discount. The latest MacBook packs a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, an A18 Pro chip, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and up to 16 hours of battery life, all for under $600, which is fantastic value. Discounts have been better in the past, but I think these will be rarer to see over the coming months and this price likely won't be beaten over Black Friday.View Deal
This is a solid discount on a modern laptop powered by one of the efficient Snapdragon X CPUs. As well as excellent levels of all-around performance, this device boasts a huge all-day battery life, so you won't need to worry about being attached to a charger at all times. There's even 512GB of SSD storage, which you don't often see in combination with those other strong performance components at this price point. This is an all-around excellent laptop for everyday, college and business use.View Deal
The Dell XPS 13 has regularly been one of our favorite laptops here at TechRadar, and this brand-new version continues that trend. With an Intel Core 5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, it has everything you need for solid all-around performance at work or college. Students can also save an extra $100, bringing the price down to a ridiculously low $599.99.View Deal
Here's one of the best deals on a modern, all-purpose, and well-rated laptop in Dell's latest sale. You can now get $550 off this machine, which features a powerful Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, a healthy 16GB of RAM, and a decent 512GB SSD. With all of those components, you'll have no issues with all of your everyday computing and work needs. And at 14 inches, it's an easily portable device, too. Altogether, it's an excellent value all-around option and a laptop we scored 4.5/5 in our review.View Deal
One of Samsung's latest premium laptops just got its biggest discount yet at Best Buy. While similarly powered devices can be picked up for less, you do get a gorgeous 16-inch LED screen with smooth and responsive 120Hz support with this Galaxy Book6. It's powerful elsewhere, too, with an excellent battery life of up to 24 hours, making it a great pick for college, work, and productivity needs.View Deal
