I’m posting this in the hope of saving someone else the hours of errors, failed attempts, and sheer frustration I just went through trying to restore my iPhone from a Mac backup.

I’ve been storing my iPhone backups on an external SSD using a symbolic link from Apple’s default backup directory:

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

This setup worked perfectly for backing up, but restoring was another story.

I have an iPhone 11, IOS 26.6.1, and want to turn off my passcode or set to stay on longer that coming up every time I go to use my phone! Recently, granddaughter persuaded me to use Face ID and passcode. I deleted Face ID a few days ago, then wanted to change passcode ID time before came up again, and can't find where/how to do it.

Trying to synch my AirPod 3 with an iPhone6 OS 12.5.8. No luck, the iPhone doesn't synch to the AirPods.

Is it because the older version of OS 12.5.8 is just "to old"?
