If you're forgetful, Amazon's Bee Frontier, Bee Eclipse use AI to remember for you

What you need to know

  • Amazon launched the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse wearable AI products that listen in on your conversations for transcription, summary, and reminder creation.
  • The Bee Eclipse magnetically attaches to the back of your phone and can listen in on your calls, while the Frontier is a wrist-bound wearable for conversations.
  • Privacy is a huge topic for Bee, and the company said your conversations are encrypted on your phone and never leave unless you share them.
  • The Bee Frontier starts at $74, while the Eclipse runs for $99.

Amazon unveiled the next generation of wearable AI with two new products from Bee. The idea is to turn what's been said throughout the day into "insights and reminders."

Today (Oct. 15), Amazon launched the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse wearable AI products. For context, the post states, "Bee gathers context from your conversations and connected apps to provide insights and recommendations." Everything the devices capture can be accessed in the Bee mobile and desktop apps. The Bee Eclipse magnetically attaches to your phone and is no bigger than a credit card.

Essentially, the Bee Eclipse is dialed into your phone calls. Everything you're talking about is condensed into useful notes, summaries, or reminders for future use. Amazon states users will need permission from the person they're calling before the Bee Eclipse can record.

This device features a battery with over 21 days of power.

The Bee Eclipse is available for $99 in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush.

An alternative (and truly a wearable) is the Bee Frontier. Consumers can clip the Frontier onto their wrist or clothes for comfort and all-day capture. Amazon states the more the user wears the Bee Frontier, the smarter it becomes. This is likely because, when activated, the Frontier is constantly listening to your conversations, saving important details, plans, or reminders for items you need to purchase.

The Bee Frontier features a seven-day battery, IP67 water resistance, and a USB-C charging port.

You can purchase the Bee Frontier for $74 in Onyx, Lavender, and Sage on Amazon, like the Bee Eclipse. While there's some use in these devices, privacy is a major concern. Amazon and Bee highlighted these concerns, while also expressing that users remain in control.

Could it be a problem?

Android Central's Take

Whatever happened to good old note-taking? I like writing notes. I write them quite often, actually. I also try my best to remember things as they're happening. I can see the appeal of these Bee products for some people. Especially when you think about being involved in business meetings. There's always a ton of info in those, and this helps you get to the point when you need it. But for the everyday... I don't know.

Amazon states the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse feature the same privacy safeguards to ensure users remain in control and that no one can access their data. The first safeguard involves a button that users can press to turn the Frontier and Eclipse on or off. If on, the LED light will let you know.

On the other hand, Bee stresses that the audio these devices capture is "never stored." It explains that "Audio is processed into insights in real time and deleted after processing." These insights are sent directly to your phone. From there, Bee says your transcriptions are encrypted "using keys that only your device creates and controls." It adds that no one can access these unless you share them.

Users can also connect their Bee device to Alexa. The ability to delete transcriptions/summaries remains within your realm of control.

Google's next TV Streamer sounds like a massive upgrade — Apple should be worried

What you need to know

  • Google's next TV Streamer will reportedly feature a slightly narrower design while retaining the current model's overall look.
  • Built-in far-field microphones could let users interact with Gemini hands-free without needing to pick up the remote.
  • The new streamer could also get a faster processor, more storage, and a redesigned remote with additional shortcut buttons.

A new Google TV Streamer is reportedly in the works, and it could bring some pretty interesting upgrades over the current generation.

The Google TV Streamer remains one of the best streaming devices out there. It's powered by capable hardware and runs a proper version of Google TV that doesn't feel lacking in terms of features. And even though Google recently increased the price of the Google TV Streamer by $50, that doesn't mean the company isn't working on its successor.

According to a new report from 9to5Google, a next-generation Google TV Streamer is already in development, and it could bring some major changes to how you interact with your TV. The report claims the new Google TV Streamer will retain a similar design to the current model, although it will reportedly be slightly narrower for a more compact footprint.

But the bigger upgrade this time around could be the addition of built-in microphones on the streaming device itself.

Currently, if you want to interact with Gemini on Google TV, you need to use the microphone on the remote. But with the upcoming Google TV Streamer, that may no longer be necessary. Thanks to the reportedly built-in far-field microphones, users could simply say "Hey Google" out loud to interact with the device without picking up the remote.

In addition to the microphones, the report claims Google is also working on a presence-sensing feature for the new streamer. We've already seen similar functionality on some TCL smart TVs, and it could allow the Google TV Streamer to automatically detect when someone enters the room. For example, the TV could wake up and display useful information like the time, weather, or a Google Photos screensaver when it detects someone nearby.

Of course, the upgrades reportedly won't be limited to software and smart home features. The next-generation Google TV Streamer is also expected to get a faster processor alongside more storage than the 32GB currently available on the existing model. Google is also reportedly redesigning the remote, adding two more shortcut buttons for YouTube and Netflix. The streamer itself could also feature a dedicated Find My Remote button.

The report doesn't reveal when Google plans to launch the next-generation TV Streamer. However, with Apple reportedly preparing to unveil a new Apple TV 4K next week, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Google announce its own upgraded streaming device sometime this fall.

For now, though, there's no confirmed launch date or pricing information. We'll update this article as more details about the next Google TV Streamer become available.

iOS 27.2 Adds Profiles to Apple TV App

16 September 2026 at 20:23
With iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, Apple extended Apple TV app profiles to the iOS version of the app.

Apple brought ‌Apple TV‌ profiles to tvOS with tvOS 26.2, but the feature has been limited to the ‌Apple TV‌ until now.

‌Apple TV‌ app users can create new profiles in the account settings section, which can also be used to swap between profiles. Profiles only require a name, profile rating, and information about whether the user is a child.

Creating an account for a child limits content to a PG rating by default, but there is a customize option for more granular control. Users can select age ratings for TV shows and movies that are appropriate for the child based on their age

Profiles are a useful feature for a parent that wants to hand over an iPhone or iPad to a child to watch TV or movie content because it restricts what's available without impacting what the parent sees when signed into their own account.

Widow’s Bay makes Emmy history with 14 wins in its first season

16 September 2026 at 20:10

Widow’s Bay has turned its first season into one of the most decorated comedy debuts in Emmy history, collecting 14 awards at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards and giving Apple TV its biggest awards performance for a single series this year.

The comedy-horror series won Outstanding Comedy Series alongside major acting, writing, directing, casting, cinematography, music, production design, and sound honors. Its 14 victories also set a record for the most Emmy wins by a comedy series in a single season, surpassing the benchmark established by The Studio a year earlier.

The sweep came after Widow’s Bay entered the awards cycle with 19 nominations. Apple finished the 2026 Emmys with 29 awards overall, with Widow’s Bay accounting for nearly half of the total.

Widow’s Bay dominates the major Emmy categories

Matthew Rhys won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Mayor Tom Loftis, the well-intentioned but frequently overwhelmed leader of a remote New England island community.

Kate O’Flynn won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, while Stephen Root took Outstanding Supporting Actor. Betty Gilpin had already secured Outstanding Guest Actress during the Creative Arts Emmys.

Creator Katie Dippold won Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the premiere episode, while Hiro Murai received Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. The Television Academy also recognized Murai as the first Asian director to win the comedy directing category.

Those awards gave the show victories across nearly every major creative discipline involved in building the series. Widow’s Bay also received Emmys for production design, casting, cinematography, original dramatic score, music supervision, sound editing, and sound mixing.

The breadth of the wins is notable because the show was not carried solely by one high-profile performance or writing prize. Acting, directing, writing, visual design, music, and technical execution all received separate recognition.

Apple says Widow’s Bay also earned more performance awards than any other series at the 2026 Emmys.

Widow’s Bay found a distinctive balance between horror and comedy

Created by Dippold, Widow’s Bay follows Tom Loftis as he tries to transform an isolated island town into a viable tourist destination despite warnings from residents that the community is cursed.

The premise initially plays on civic frustration and small-town politics. The island has unreliable connectivity, a skeptical population, and a mayor determined to prove that local superstition is holding economic development back. As visitors begin to arrive, the supernatural stories that Loftis has dismissed start becoming harder to explain away.

That structure allows the series to operate as both a character comedy and a genuine horror story rather than treating supernatural events simply as setups for jokes.

Dippold, whose earlier work includes The Heat and Ghostbusters, serves as creator, showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Murai, known for visually distinctive television work including Atlanta, directs and executive produces.

The executive-producing team also includes Carver Karaszewski, Claudia Shin, and Rhys.

Apple and Television Academy records list Apple Studios and Chum Films among the production companies behind the series. The directing roster extends beyond Murai to Ti West, Sam Donovan, and Andrew DeYoung.

The main cast includes Rhys, O’Flynn, Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey.

A debut season becomes an awards benchmark

Widow’s Bay premiered globally on Apple TV on April 29, 2026. The first two episodes were released together before the remaining episodes arrived weekly.

Its Emmy performance places the series alongside a growing run of Apple comedies that have performed strongly with Television Academy voters.

Ted Lasso previously won Outstanding Comedy Series, followed by The Studio in 2025. Widow’s Bay gives Apple consecutive wins in the category and its fourth Outstanding Comedy Series victory across the past six Emmy ceremonies.

Apple also became the most awarded network at the 2026 Emmys with 29 wins. Pluribus contributed six, including awards for Rhea Seehorn and creator Vince Gilligan, while Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Palm Royale each received three.

Slow Horses won for directing, and Mr. Scorsese received Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.

For Widow’s Bay itself, the 14-win total is especially significant because this is the show’s freshman season. The Television Academy confirmed six of those awards during the main September 14 telecast, while eight had already been announced during the Creative Arts ceremonies.

The combination took Widow’s Bay beyond The Studio’s previous record for a debut comedy and established a new single-season high for the category.

Matthew Rhys adds another unusual Emmy milestone

Rhys had an especially unusual night beyond his Widow’s Bay victory.

In addition to winning Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, he received another lead-actor Emmy for Netflix’s The Beast in Me in the limited or anthology series or movie category, making him the first performer to win two lead acting awards in different categories during the same Emmy year.

His Widow’s Bay performance is deliberately restrained compared with the increasingly strange circumstances surrounding Loftis. Rather than treating the island’s supernatural events as an invitation to broaden the comedy, Rhys largely plays the mayor as someone trying to maintain a rational civic response while the situation deteriorates.

That tonal approach runs through the rest of the production. Root and O’Flynn’s supporting performances received individual recognition, while Murai’s directing and Dippold’s writing awards reinforced how closely the series depends on maintaining tension without losing its comic rhythm.

All 10 episodes of the first season are currently available to stream on Apple TV. With the Emmy campaign complete, the show now carries a benchmark that future comedy debuts will be measured against: 14 awards from 19 nominations, capped by Outstanding Comedy Series and wins across nearly every part of the production.

Apple Releases First watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2 Betas

16 September 2026 at 18:12
Alongside new betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and macOS Golden Gate 27.2, Apple has released the first betas of watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2. The betas come two days after the 27.0 software updates were released.

Registered developers can download the betas through the Settings app on each device.

Two new Apple Intelligence features are coming to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 in late 2026, and Apple could start testing them as soon as watchOS 27.2. Live Rewind will allow users to double-press the Digital Crown to get a transcription of what was said in the last 15 seconds, while Siri Recap will turn conversations users have had during the day into high-level notes.

There's no word on what's being added in visionOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2, but Apple is expected to introduce a new version of the Apple TV 4K with ‌Siri‌ AI support sometime before the end of the year.

Diese Woche neu bei Apple TV: Slow Horses, Staffel 6

16 September 2026 at 14:00

Keine Aston Martins, sondern Londoner Taxis.

Go, Lady Greyhounds, go!

Acapulco

  • Darum geht es: Erinnert fast ein wenig an „How I Met Your Mother“: Älterer Herr erzählt Geschichten aus seiner Jugend.

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 24. September 2021

For All Mankind

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 28. Juni 2023

In with the Devil

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 1. April 2022

Still up

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 14. August 2020

The Morning Show

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 1. November 2019

The Studio

  • Erscheinungsdatum: 26. März 2025

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 1 Ending Explained: Why Frank Harkness Is Back in London

16 September 2026 at 13:13

Frank Harkness is back in London because the attack on former Slow Horses reaches directly into River Cartwright’s unresolved family history. Episode 1 does not bring Hugo Weaving’s mercenary back for a nostalgic appearance. It places River’s estranged father near a campaign that is already turning Slough House’s past into a weapon. The return matters […]

Last Seen Episode 3 Ending Explained: What the Cosmetics Bag Reveals About Donnie

16 September 2026 at 12:45

The cosmetics bag reveals that Donnie’s lies are tied to the house where Sarah is being controlled, not simply to a misunderstanding about a van. Ian finds the inexpensive makeup after luring Donnie away, and the object matters because Henry had earlier rejected it as unsuitable for Sarah. That makes the bag a small but […]

16 September 2026 at 12:30

Além de Scott Thomas e Oldman, o elenco inclui Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Hugo Weaving, Lenny Rush, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, James Callis, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce e Olivia Cooke.

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 1 Recap: How Struan Loy’s Murder Starts a Hunt for Former Slow Horses

16 September 2026 at 11:58

Struan Loy’s murder starts the hunt because he is the first proof that former Slow Horses are being selected, not randomly harmed. In “Circle of Life,” the disgraced ex-agent is burned alive in a shipping container. The brutality gives Lamb a reason to look beyond a single death and ask who has access to a […]

Last Seen Episode 3 Recap: Why Ian Finally Knows Donnie Is Lying About Sarah

16 September 2026 at 11:30

Ian finally knows Donnie is lying because the cleaned-up emergency-call audio leads him back to the van that took Sarah from the phone booth. The sound gives Ian a practical clue, and the fact that Donnie was driving that van turns a long-running suspicion into a direct confrontation. Episode 3, “The Lie,” does not prove […]

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 1 Ending Explained: Why Slough House Has Been Erased From MI5’s Database

16 September 2026 at 10:45

Slough House has been erased from MI5’s database because someone is preparing to hunt its past and present members without leaving an official trail. The ending of “Circle of Life” turns an administrative disappearance into a survival warning: if the Service cannot acknowledge that the unit exists, its discarded agents are easier to isolate, discredit […]
