Best magnetic power banks and MagSafe portable chargers for iPhone 2026

6 August 2026 at 13:10

Macworld

Portable power banks that charge your phone are popular, but wireless battery packs using Apple’s magnetic MagSafe technology offer a simpler and smarter cable-free solution for iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and Air users.

Phone batteries are prone to run dry just when you’re heading away from a power source, so having a portable charging source is one of today’s necessities. Annoyingly, most power banks require you to carry around a cable, too. Wireless power banks do away with cables but come with their own major limitation—the inefficiency of wireless charging means you need a high-capacity power bank to fully charge a drained iPhone.

MagSafe is a technology that’s compatible with all iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and Air models, from the mini to the Pro Max, but strangely missing from the 16e model. It allows accessories to clamp magnetically to the back of the iPhone, making the charging connection more efficient.

We put the best portable chargers through a series of rigorous iPhone recharging tests, and have listed the winners by power, portability and functionality:

Best capacity magnetic power bank for you

You should consider size when it comes to a power bank: physical size and battery capacity. The higher the battery capacity, the more recharging power you’ll get from the power bank—but you’ll also be carrying around a larger, heavier item. Lighter, slimmer power banks are easier to pocket even when clamped to your phone. Larger power banks might not fit in your trouser pocket and can slide off easier when pocketed even if clamped magnetically.

10K power banks (with a 10000mAh battery capacity) can charge a phone close to two times over, while 5K (5000mAh) battery packs usually stretch between 60-75%, which is often enough to get you to the next wall-socket powering opportunity. If you are relying on the power bank for long-haul travel or a camping trip, a 10K battery or higher will suit you better. Belkin even offers a mid-range 8K power bank.

Milliamp hours (mAh) is quite a blunt measurement of battery capacity. It’s great for quickly differentiating between power bank sizes but we also list the capacity in the more accurate watt hours (Wh).

Wireless power bank charging speed

Wireless charging speeds vary from 7.5W (MagSafe Compatible) to 15W (certified MagSafe and Qi2), all the way to the very fastest wireless charging at 25W (Qi2.2). While it’s not as efficient as using a cable to charge a phone, magnetic wireless charging is a step closer to doing away with cables altogether. Qi2 25W brings wireless charging close to wired speed but only iPhones 16 and later support that speed, and some power banks include a built-in USB-C cable for even faster charging up to 45W. The iPhone Air can manage 20W max on even a 25W charger. See Which wireless tech is best for your iPhone?.

We have listed the speeds at which each portable power bank can be charged itself (Input charger) and charge the iPhone (Output charger). The higher the wattage, the faster the charging should be.

Best high-capacity 10K MagSafe power banks

A 10000mAh (10K) battery is the sweet spot for both power and portability. 5000mAh (5K) power banks reviewed further down are slimmer, lighter and easier to pocket, but generally offer a maximum of 70-80% recharge potential versus a 10K power bank that should be able to recharge an iPhone at least one and a half times over.

The Kuxiu S3 was the first semi-solid-state 25W magnetic wireless power bank to enter the Macworld Lab. A semi-solid state (SSS) power bank is more energy-dense than a traditional liquid electrolyte power bank because its semi-solid electrolyte is less prone to leakage and thermal runaway. SSS is therefore more durable, safer and offers more charge cycles so will last longer.

Indeed, not only does it tick those boxes but its also boasts three other top-end features: a built-in USB-C cable, integrated kickstand, and super-clear digital battery display.

Only the iPhones 16 and 17 support the very fastest wireless tech Qi2 25W, and only the iPhone 15 and later have a USB-C charging port. Older iPhones (from 12 on) can use a 25W charger such as the S3 but are pegged back at 15W—still faster than the 7.5W found on cheaper power banks.

Switch to wired charging via the integrated USB-C cable and you’ll achieve up to 35W so even faster.

The S3 has a 10000mAh (10K) battery capacity and managed to recharge that same iPhone to 177%—so up to 100% then another 77% when it came to a second recharging task. That’s not the top score we’ve had in our 10K power bank tests: the champ so far is the Ugreen MagFlow Air 10K, which scored an unmatched 208%, with the EcoFlow RAPID 10K and Anker MagGo Slim scoring 190% or close—both are reviewed here. But 177% is above average.

The same company offers two other 25W magnetic power banks: the similar S4 reviewed below, and the K1 Ultra (reviewed in our multi-device section below) that has a neat slide-out panel that can charge your Apple Watch or AirPods at the same time as the iPhone.

It might lack the very fastest 25W wireless tech but the 10K Ugreen MagFlow Air packs a built-in USB-C cable that can connect to an iPhone 15 or later and charge at 30W.

What really wowed us, though, was its performance in our recharging tests. It scored 208%, so two full charges and a trickle on the third round. The previous champ, the EcoFlow RAPID 10K, scored 190%. There are a bunch of environmental factors that come into play each time you charge but there’s no doubting that the MagFlow Air is an ace.

It’s also nearly as thin as the Kuxiu S4, the slimmest 10K battery pack reviewed above.

There’s a 5K MagFlow Air model, reviewed with the other small power banks further down, and that too won its class on battery capacity.

Somewhat confusingly, Ugreen also sells a non-Air 10K MagFlow Power Bank, shown above, that is faster at 25W wireless but scored a less impressive 144% in our recharging tests. The Kuxiu S3 is a better choice at that speed, or its S4 sibling, reviewed below, if you want something even slimmer than the MagFlow Air 10K.

The Iniu SnapGo Air matches the Kuxiu S4, reviewed below, as the slimmest 10K magnetic portable charger we’ve had in for testing. It’s a little lighter but a tiny bit wider, and it scored with a similar result in our iPhone recharging tests.

It beats the S4 with 45W wired charging (but matched it on 25W wireless) and by including a detachable (but not built-in) USB-C cable. It’s also available in a wider range of colors. Unlike the S4 it’s not semi solid state, which may mean it can perform fewer recharge cycles although it will take you a long time to find out. There are two USB-C ports but total output is pegged back to 15W when more than one id used at the same time.

Its neat base-mounted digital display is helpful and better than most LED indicators but the S4’s display shows a bit more information if you need it. The S4 also features a kickstand, missing from the SnapGo Air.

Like its S3 sibling, the Kuxiu S4 is a semi-solid-state 25W magnetic wireless power bank with all the safety and durability benefits gained from that technology.

While it lacks the S3’s super-useful and powerful built-in 30W USB-C cable, it measures up in terms of slim profile. At just 13.7mm thin, it’s the slimmest 10K power bank we’ve tested (equakl with the Iniu SnapGo Air 10K, reviewed above). The S3 and most 10K power banks look chunky in comparison. If you want thinner, you need to switch down to a 5K capacity power bank.

Its integrated kickstand is not quite as robust as that found on the S3 but it does the job well enough, and its digital battery display carries even more charging information.

You’ll need to bring your own cable to switch to wired charging for 30W output. The S4 recharged our test iPhone to 182%, so a little higher than the S3 but close enough for the difference to be down to environmental factors such as temperature.

The EcoFlow RAPID 10K has a large capacity, refilling a iPhone 16 Pro twice over in our tests—close to the best we’d seen, with only the Ugreen MagFLow Air 10K beating it. What makes this power bank special—although not unique—is its short built-in USB-C cable that can be used for fast-charging an iPhone 15, 16 or 17 or refilling the power bank itself. The cable fits neatly away when not in use at the bottom of the power bank. It’s the highest rated we’ve tested with 65W input and output.

Wirelessly it will work with any MagSafe iPhone (12/13/14/15/16/17) at 15W. iPhone 15/16/17 users can connect via the integrated USB-C cable or a separate longer cable via the side USB-C port if required, for faster 30W charging. Owners of earlier iPhones can use a USB-C to Lightning cable instead for fast 20W wired charging from the power bank’s port. Note that the iPhone 16e does not work with magnetic wireless charging.

For faster wireless charging, consider the new generation of Qi2 25W power banks such as the Kuxiu S3, Baseus PicoGo and Iniu SnapGo Air reviewed here. That said, the 25W power banks we have tested didn’t match the EcoFlow or Ugreen MagFlow Air on battery capacity in our tests, although they are not too far behind.

No 10K magnetic wireless power bank can match the EcoFlow on input speed—that is the rate at which it is recharged itself. Its 65W is much faster than the average 30W input speed.

While winning on charging performance and capacity, the EcoFlow Rapid is reasonably chunky compared to the Ugreen MagFlow Air, Anker MagGo Slim and Benks ArmorGo, and notably bulkier than smaller-capacity 5K power banks. It’s still pocketable but the slightly larger size is the compromise for the other benefits. If you want a slimmer battery pack, look for a smaller 5000mAh option—we’ve tested the best slim power banks further on. It has a handy pull-out kickstand at the back.

At just 14.7mm thick, the 10000mAh Anker MagGo Slim power bank rivals even some of the 5000mAh battery packs in terms of slimness. Only the 13.7mm Kuxiu S4 is thinner. It’s also lighter than any other 10K magnetic wireless power bank that we have tested, and scores highly on recharging power. Built-in USB-C cables are nice but I admit that the svelte Anker Slim is the magnetic power bank in my backpack every day.

It uses fast Qi2 magnetic tech, so can wirelessly charge at an impressive 15W. If you have a spare cable with you, it can charge at twice that speed via its USB-C port. This makes it as fast a wireless charger as the EcoFlow RAPID reviewed above but slower than the bulkier Kuxiu S3 or S4. The EcoFlow charger is more convenient with its built-in USB-C cable, but owners of iPhones 12/13/14 might appreciate the ability to add a Lightning cable to the USB-C port and charge that way.

In our tests it performed among the best of the 10K magnetic power banks we have put through their paces: recharging an iPhone 15 Pro to 188% (over the course of two iPhone charges from one power bank charge).

It’s available in up to four colors depending on your country and where you buy it, including pink and teal versions.

There’s an even slimmer 5K Anker Nano model, reviewed below.

This 25W wireless power bank lived up to its claims of wirelessly charging an iPhone 16 Pro from 0% to 50% in 36 minutes—12 to 15 minutes faster than a 15W power bank. That might not sound a lot but when you’re in a rush to charge your phone, every minute counts. 25W wireless charging is limited to the iPhone 16 and 17 families, running at least iOS 26; older iPhones will charge at 15W using this power bank.

Most 10K wireless power banks are around 22mm deep, so the 16mm-thin Baseus PicoGo Magnetic 10K Power Bank (AM52) is one of the slimmest we’ve tested. The Kuxiu S4 reviewed above is even slimmer at just under 14mm but the AM52 is certainly thinner than most.

The AM52 is an output blazer is more ways than one. It is certified Qi 2.2 so charges wirelessly at 25W, as fast as the Ugreen MagFlow reviewed below, and like the MagFlow also boasts an option with a built-in USB-C cable. And if you choose wired charging, you can access output at 45W—the fastest of any magnetic wireless power bank reviewed here, alongside the Iniu SnapGo Air reviewed above. If you use the wireless charging pad, the handy integrated USB-C cable and the spare USB-C port to simultaneously charge three devices—say your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods—total output is restricted to 15W.

When recharging an iPhone, it refilled our test 16 Pro more than one and a half times, scoring an impressive 182% in the Macworld Recharge Score. Other 10K power banks have performed a little better: we recorded scores of 208% with the 15W Ugreen MagFlow Air 10K and 190% with the 15W EcoFlow Rapid 10K and 7.5W Anker Zolo 10K, although both lag behind the Baseus in terms of charging speed.

The Baseus PicoGo AM52 costs $69.99 / £59.99 for the model with no integrated cable and $79.99 / £69.99 for the AM52 with cable built in. We think that extra ten bucks is worth it for the convenience of the built-in cable. The ‘cableless’ AM52 does in fact ship with a separate 300mm USB-C to USB-C cable but it’s not integrated into the power bank itself.

The same company also sells the25W Baseus PicoGo AM61 10K Power Bank that is very similar but not quite as slim, and the Baseus Nomos Magnetic 10K Power Bank that, like the PicoGo, has an integrated 45W USB-C cable but slower 15W Qi2 wireless charging. Its recharge score of 166% is close to that of the 25W PicoGo. As it is priced similarly to the 25W PicoGo, the newer model makes more sense.

  • Colors: White, Black, Blue, Green

Around the same size as the Ugreen MagFlow power bank, reviewed above, the Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) didn’t quite match that battery pack in terms of recharging but was still impressive—around the same as the Baseus Nomos.

It is certified for the Qi2 standard and so supports 15W wireless charging. This works with all MagSafe-supporting devices: from the iPhone 12 to 17. (Note that the iPhone 16e doesn’t officially support magnetic charging.)

The EcoFlow RAPID has a slightly more powerful cabled charging spec (30W vs Anker’s 27W) but the difference is negligible. We like the integrated USB-C cable included with those power banks, but any decent USB-C charging cable can be used with the MagGo to fast wire-charge an iPhone.

Aside from fast wireless charging, the Anker boasts an easy-to-read digital display that shows you exactly how much charge is left in the battery pack. Seeing the actual percentage is much more useful than the traditional four LED lights seen on most power banks. It also features a solid pull-out stand at the back.

The Sharge Icemag 3 has a cool name and is certainly one of the coolest-looking magnetic power banks we’ve seen. It even has a little RGB light show going on. They don’t mean much but they do look pretty.

At 25W it’s super fast for iPhone 16 and 17, and it maintains power output throughout by having built-in active cooling. Note. though. that this fan is quite noisy in oepration but it should mean more reliable faster charging. Older iPhones will charge at a more sedate 15W.

In our tests it performed well—not the very best but a respectable 177% score.

It has a built-in USB-C cable and a kickstand so ticks all the right boxes in terms of functionality.

This power bank stands out with its Aramid Fibre weave—a high strength material that is more resistant to heat, cuts and abrasion than other cases and is often used in protective clothing and aerospace parts.

The rose gold color also looks rather nice. Benks doesn’t call it that (or anything) but that’s how it looks with a pleasing weave pattern.

It’s Qi2 so capable of 15W charging—no longer the fastest but what was until recently the cutting edge of wireless power. It scored a decent 165% in the Macworld recharging tests so will give you over 1.5 charges before it, too, needs filling up—which, by the way, it takes its time doing as the 15W input power is less than on other power banks.

Benks also offers an equally tough and super-slim 5K Aramid Fiber model, although it is only MagSafe Compatible so a slower charging experience at 7.5W. The 10K model is Qi2 so faster 15W charging power.

While a wireless charging pad saves you the bother of carrying a cable around to charge your phone from a power bank, you still need a wall charger to hand to recharge the power bank itself… but not with the PhoneSuit Journey Mag, which features foldable North American plug prongs so you can plug the battery pack straight into a power socket. While plugged in, the power bank can charge the attached iPhone wirelessly at the same time as recharging the battery pack.

Two further USB ports are also handy. The USB-C port can charge at 20W, so much faster than the 7.5W MagSafe-compatible wireless charging pad—but you will need a USB-C cable in this instance: USB-C to Lightning for iPhones older than the iPhone 15, and USB-C to USB-C for the 15, 16 and 17. The USB-A port can charge another device at up to 18W.

The 10000mAh battery capacity allowed us to charge a faded iPhone to 100% and then again another 50%, which is about average for this size battery.

Best small portable magnetic power banks

If you carry your power bank around with all day, in your bag or pocket, a slimmer, lighter magnetic/MagSafe power bank will suit you better than a larger, heavier 10K battery pack. They are also easier to pocket when clamped to your phone.

The Anker MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank, reviewed above, is just 0.58 inches thick and weighs only 200g but these 5K magnetic power banks will take up even less space in your bag or desk drawer, and are easier to pocket with iPhone attached.

5K battery packs are slim enough to clamp to your iPhone and still slip into your pocket. While 10000mAh power banks boast larger re-charging capacity, if you want a slightly smaller and lighter battery pack with a stand, we recommend you choose between this EcoFlow RAPID 5K power bank—the smaller sibling of our recommended best 10K magnetic power bank—and one of the latest slim portable chargers reviewed below.

Where the 5K EcoFlow Rapid gets the overall nod—especially for owners of the iPhone 15, 16 and 17—is its built-in USB-C cable. No other 5000mAh wireless power bank we have tested has the handy integrated cable. Several of our favorite 10K battery packs have built-in cables but this is the first 5K power bank to boast one. Even if you have an earlier Lightning iPhone, the integrated cable can be used to top up the power bank itself.

It features 15W Qi2 wireless charging when clamped to the back of an iPhone, and can be charged with a cable at a top 30W speed. You can find faster 25W 5K power banks reviewed below, and also thinner models with higher recharge scores but the EcoFlow offers a greater mix of features with its integrated cable and kickstand.

This semi-solid-state battery promises to be more sustainable and safe than conventional Lithium-ion rivals. At 6.8mm, it’s easily the slimmest magnetic power bank we’ve tested, and it performed the best of any 5K power bank too.

Solid-state electrolytes are replacing flammable liquid electrolytes with more stable, efficient materials that allow for smaller, more compact, and safer battery designs. Semi-solid-state cells reduce flammable liquid to a fraction of that found in standard lithium-ion batteries.

It’s not all about size—these batteries are safer and should last significantly longer with a greater number of cycles before the battery degrades.

In our battery recharge test the BMX SolidSafe Air 5K achieved an impressive score of 89%, among the highest of all the magnetic wireless power banks we have had in the Macworld Labs.

The SolidSafe Air features the usual four LED battery indicator lights. If you want a display with more detail, its plain (non-Air) BMX SolidSafe sibling (available in Black, Blue, Silver or Orange) boasts a great digital screen that is much more informative. That model also has a short USB-C cable attached: it’s not built in but is tied to the power bank on a tough thread.

The Zens Semi Solid State 5K Powerbank matches the Ugreen 5K MagFlow Air with the best performance the best we’ve seen in our battery recharging tests, achieving a Macworld Recharge Test Score of 90%. While that’s only 1% more than the BMX SolidSafe Air 5K, reviewed above, and 2% higher than the Statik State 5K Power Bank, reviewed below, it beats the Ugreen by being a little slimmer (8mm vs 8.6mm) and faster at 25W (vs 15W).

Using a semi-solid electrolyte helps this portable charger hit such a high recharge score and remain thin and lightweight with a higher energy density in a compact design. This newer battery structure also enhances stability and durability with improved thermal control, greater resistance to shock and temperature changes, plus a longer lifecycle with sustained performance over more charge cycles.

The 10K Zens Semi Solid State 5K Powerbank (unsurprisngly thicker at 14mm but still thinner than most 10K portable chargers, and heavier at 199g) also performed well in our tests with a score of 181%.

That matches the same score as the Zens Semi Solid State Powerbank reviewed above and is impressive beating the two semi-solid-state battery packs despite not being solid state itself.

Its 15W wireless charging speed isn’t the very fastest on the market but it’s standard for 5K magnetic power banks, and no slouch with some reviewed here merely 7.5W.

This Belkin BoostCharge Pro Power Bank 5K + Stand impressed in our recharging tests, recharging a faded iPhone 16 Pro by 79% compared to 70% by the 5K EcoFlow RAPID 5K and 68% for the Ugreen 5000mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank. Only the Ugreen MagFlow Air 5K (90%), BMX SolidSafe Air (89%), and Statik State 5K Power Bank (88%) beat it and Kuxiu S2 Solid-State Power Kank matched it.

The Belkin’s kickstand is easy to use and feels robust, and the battery pack itself is marginally smaller than the Ugreen. The $49.99 Torras MagStall Power Bank is a little slimmer but wider and boasts a stand/finger-grip, although recharges to a slightly lesser extent.

It features 15W Qi2 wireless charging when clamped to the back of an iPhone, and can be charged with a cable at 12W, which is not as speedy as some power banks that have 20W or even 30W USB-C ports.

Check here first: While Belkin and Amazon offer a choice of Black or White, and the Apple Store now has an exclusive set of new colors, including a brighter Pink, Deep Purple with a red stand and a fetching Teal with a yellow stand.

This is a Semi Solid State (SSS) power bank so offers greater durability and capacity plus all-important safety on the more traditional liquid electrolyte batteries. It’s likely that SSS power banks represent the next stage in charging technology not just for travellers but all of us on the move.

The Statik State 5K Power Bank may not be the smallest power bank we’ve tested but it’s pretty tiny all the same, and it is the overall winner in our 5K magnetic power bank recharging tests, scoring 88%—just a marginal 2% below our highest scorer, the Ugreen MagFlow Air 5K.

Its only real downside is the slow wireless charging at just 7.5W compared to the superior 15W and 25W power banks reviewed here. If you aren’t after the fastest recharging times, this is a solid choice and gets very close to offering a full battery recharge.

The Anker Slim performed excellently in our recharge tests, boosting an iPhone 16 Pro from 0% to 77%. Charging speeds were impacted by the heat, which is caused by the smart temperature control that slows things down when they get hot.

The semi-solid-state BMX scored a very high 89% in our recharging tests, and the PowerCapsule was also impressive at 80%.

We also like the Twelve South PowerCapsule for its sandy Dune color and the fact that it feels great to touch, being crafted in sustainable cactus leather.

Simon Jary

There’s a 10K PowerCapsule measuring the same dimensions except for height, which at 0.61 inches (15.5mm) makes it one of the thinnest 10K power banks but not as slim as the 5K; you can see the physical difference above with the 10K PowerCapsule at the top. It scored a decent 165% in our recharging tests.

Only the semi-solid-state Statik State 5K Power Bank performed better (88%), and that lacks the stand on this UAG power bank and is rated at just 7.5W.

This power bank is rated at 10W wireless, which is faster than 7.5W but noticeably slower than the 15W and 25W power banks also reviewed here. As long as you’re not in an awful hurry, the recharge capacity makes up for the speed.

There’s an interesting battle for the crown of smallest, slimmest and lightest magnetic battery pack between three of the power banks reviewed and tested here

The Baseus PicoGo 5K is a tiny bit shorter and less wide than the Vonmählen Evergreen Mag but almost exactly the same slim depth and is 13g lighter. It is precisely the same weight (111g) as the Infinacore M3. We think it’s the sweet spot between the three, and is available from Amazon for less than $23.

Recharging our iPhone 16 Pro to 71%, it performed much better in our battery tests than the smallest power bank (Infinacore: 56%) and very slightly better than the slimmest (Vonmählen: 70%), although that will charge faster at 15W compared to the PicoGo’s 7.5W.

There is a larger capacity 10K Baseus PicoGo (4 x 2.7 x 0.6 inches; 6.2oz) that is about the same credit-card length and width but noticeably thicker in depth than the 5K, as you’d expect from a much more powerful battery pack. The 10K version is faster charging at 15W Qi2, and performed well in our tests with a score of 142%.

Solid-state batteries (SSB) are a new technology that promise to be more powerful, sustainable and safe than conventional Lithium-ion rivals by using a solid rather than liquid electrolyte. The Kuxiu S2 is actually “semi solid-state” but it’s still the first SSB power bank that we’ve tested. We have since tested the Statik State 5K Power Bank, which performed even better (88%) in our recharge challenge but is slower (7.5W) at wireless racharging.

One of the benefits of semi or solid-state batteries is that you should get as much as twice as many charges from the power bank before it starts to degrade: 1,000 vs a normal power bank’s 500. It should also be more robust and safer to carry and store.

The Kuxiu S2 performed very well in our charging tests, matching the Belkin BoostCharge at 79%. With Qi2 it wirelessly charges at 15W.

It’s not the smallest we’ve tested but also not the largest, although it does tip the scales more than the tinier power banks reviewed here.

Longer and wider than the smallest power bank we have tested, the well-named Infinacore M3 Mini reviewed below, the Vonmählen Evergreen Mag 5000mAh Power Bank however is a slimmer 5K power bank. If you want to shave 2mm off the width of the power bank clamped iPhone sliding in and out of your pocket, then this is a great option—although the BMX SolidSafe Air 5K (68mm) and Anker Nano MagGo 5K Slim (8.5mm) are thinner.

It is also faster than the M3 Mini and Phonesuit Elite Mag Slim at wirelessly charging as it supports Qi2, and in our tests it recharged an iPhone 16 Pro from 0% to 70% before requiring a power-up itself, which easily beats the Infinacore and just shades the PhoneSuit.

Knowing how much charge is left in your power bank could mean the difference between leaving the house confident that your battery pack is full of juice and finding out too late that it needs a recharge itself.

The Elite Mag Slim from PhoneSuit has a large digital display showing off the exact remaining charge that is more accessible than the usual four LED dots found on most power banks.

This battery pack is also notable for its slimness, which is equal to the Vonmählen Evergreen Mag, reviewed above. The Vonmählen power bank narrowly beat it in our tests but certainly not significantly so, but it does charge faster wirelessly (15W vs 7.5W) than the PhoneSuit.

The PhoneSuit Elite Mag Slim Pro is a 10K version, with a recharge score of 149%, and the same bright easy-to-read display for just $10 more but deeper (0.5in vs 0.35in).

Best multi-device charging MagSafe power banks

if you own AirPods and an Apple Watch as well as an iPhone, look for MagSafe power banks that charge multiple Apple devices at the same time. As power banks these should still be portable, but often convert into charging stands when in use. Most are two large to slip in your pocket with the phone attached but they are useful for when you are away from base and need to power up all your favorite Apple kit.

The Kuxiu K1 Ultra bills itself as a 3-in-1, and certainly can charge iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch but not all wirelessly at the same time. Let’s not knock it, though, as this is a super Qi2.2 iPhone magnetic power bank that can wirelessly charge your iPhone at the very fastest speed.

The other multi-device magnetic power banks reviewed below are limited to 7.5W wireless iPhone charging. That will take around 90 minutes to charge an iPhone to 50%, where this power bank’s 25W wireless output reduces that charging time to a mere 30 minutes. Noe that only the iPhone 16 and 17 benefit from 25W wireless charging; older iPhones will charge at 15W using this power bank.

The back section of the K1 Ultra cleverly clicks round like a rotated Rubik’s Cube to show off its Qi module that can charge Watch or AirPods at 5W. There’s also a spare USB-C port to enable a third device to be charged if you have a cable handy. A handy kickstand is also available.

There’s a lovely Cosmic Orange model, which is available via Amazon or direct. Otherwise, you can choose the Black model.

If 15W is all you need—0-50% charging in around 45 minutes—Kuxiu offers the K1 Pro for a lower price, although we’d recommend you consider spending the extra so you’re ready for your next iPhone upgrade.

This clever gadget is a portable camera grip that pairs with your iPhone over Bluetooth, and just happens to also be a magnetic wireless power bank. You can snap it onto your iPhone and start using it to shoot photos or video with its one-touch shutter, plus charge your device at the same time.

The ergonomic grip supports better framing, and it can attach to a tripod with a quarter-inch screw mount for steady photo or video capture.

In our Recharge Tests it scored 160%, which means it powered an iPhone 16 Pro from 0-100% and then another 60% before it was drained itself. As it’s not quite a full 10K power bank (with a 9.3K battery) this holds up pretty well with the less functional but smaller and slimmer power banks reviewed here.

Featuring a 29.5-inch (0.75m) retractable cable, it can also charge the phone at 20W, which is handy if you’re in a hurry as the wireless charging is only MagSafe Compatible, and therefore slow at 7.5W. It has a spare USB-C port, too, so can simultaneously charge three devices.

It’s quite large and heavy compared to the other magnetic portable chargers but you’ll buy it as much for its camera grip as the battery pack.

Much bigger and meaner than the power banks reviewed above, the Statik SmartCharge Pro can charge through its USB-C and USB-A ports, an iPhone or Apple Watch wirelessly through a magnetic charging pad, and one through the built-in USB-C cable. As a portable power bank you might carry in a bag on your travels, but not in your pocket—it’s one to rest on a table rather than in actual transit.

In our tests, it demonstrated its 15K battery capacity—charging an iPhone 16 Pro nearly two and a half times over. It even recharged a flat 14-inch MacBook Pro to 54%.

Certified Qi2, the iPhone wireless charging pad is rated at 15W. There is an integrated 60W USB-C output cable, as well as a 60W USB-C port and 18W USB-A. It’s not so great at charging multiple devices at the same time—when using all the ports simultaneously they share a maximum 15W output. If you want to get the 60W charging use either the USB-C port or cable and have nothing else hooked up to the power bank.

It features built-in U.S. plug prongs so can be connected straight into a power socket rather than requiring a separate USB-C charger. You can quickly charge the power bank plugged into a wall AC socket, but during recharging the output is reduced to 20W on the port and cable until the battery is at 100% when the charging returns to 60W. If you need a higher-wattage standalone USB-C wall charger, check our reviews of the best USB-C chargers.

The U.S. plugs are fine for users based in North America, but not for international users, so there are U.K., E.U, and AU/NZ plug adapters included making it work in those countries and as a travel companion.

Statik has a non-Pro version, the 10K SmartCharge Gen 2, which features two integrated 15W USB-C cables, plus 20W USB-C and 22.5W USB-A ports. In our tests, it was very close in battery charging power to the top scorers—charging an iPhone 16 Pro nearly twice over. This version isn’t available in the Pro’s bright orange color.

The first version of SmartCharge Gen 1 has one USB-C for iPhone 15/16/17 and a Lightning cable for older iPhones. if that suits you better, Amazon still has stock at the time of writing.

Infinacore P3 Pro Charger and Power Bank

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry

Another plug-in-the-wall power bank option is the Infinacore P3 Pro, pictured above, which costs $129 / £102, and can charge four devices at the same time, including an iPhone at 15W Qi2. It lacks the integrated USB-C cable found on the Statik power bank but as it plugs directly into a wall power socket you won’t need to carry a cable to recharge the power bank itself. Like the Statik battery pack, it comes with U.K., E.U, and AU/NZ travel adapter plug heads. As well as the Qi2 charging pad, there are two USB-C ports and one USB-A. The P3 Pro also boasts an excellent display, showing charging speed, battery status, temperature, and charge time remaining.

If you don’t need a portable power bank, check out the best MagSafe chargers that we have tested. Also check out our tests of the best iPhone chargers for wired charging solutions, and of course to refill your iPhone power bank.

How we tested

MagSafe charger testing was conducted using an iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro, subscribed to a 5G network and WiFi, with screen off and all default settings.

Our test is a simple battery recharge shootout. We let our test-unit iPhone Pro (3095mAh battery capacity) drain to just 10% and then set the Battery Pack to work recharging the phone. We then assigned the charger a score of whatever percentage it managed to charge the iPhone to and subtract the 10%; we test each model at least twice.

It’s not a real-world test of day-to-day use where you’ll likely be using your phone for various tasks (of varying battery usage) and in different environmental conditions and network configurations. But it does give us a common score format that we can use to compare different battery-pack models.

Apple iPhone MagSafe battery pack charging

Why is magnetic wireless better?

The MagSafe connection to Apple’s iPhone is precise enough to make wireless charging more efficient as around 20% of non-magnetic power loss is from poor placement of a phone and the wireless charging pad. Standard Qi wireless charging can lose as much as 50% of the portable battery’s power, but MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging loses ‘just’ 30%. Hot out of the gadget laboratory, the new Qi 2.2 (also known as Qi2 25W) brings even faster 25W wireless charging for the iPhone 16 and 17. 15% will be plenty fast enough for most of us but who doesn’t want the fastest possible charging when your iPhone’s battery icon is in the red?

Why comparing Watt Hours is better than Milliamp Hours

Phone batteries are generally rated in Milliamp Hours (mAh) but this is a measure of electrical charge, while a Watt Hour is equal to one watt of energy consumed for one hour of time.

When comparing battery capacities and how much a power pack will boost a phone’s internal battery, energy is more important than electrical charge.

And mAh ignores a battery voltage, which determines the wattage (power) of a battery.

If the mAh is the same, the higher the voltage, the greater the actual stored power.

For example, Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack is rated at just 1460mAh but it has a higher voltage potential (7.62V) than the iPhone (3.81V) or other battery packs, meaning that it can provide more power to an iPhone than its mAh suggests; in fact, it is actually 2920mAh.

To go into further depth about this read our feature iPhone battery capacities compared that also lists all iPhones battery life in mAh and Wh.

Anatomy of a magnetic power bank

Anatomy of a MagSafe Power Bank

TORRAS

A lot more than a battery goes into the making of a magnetic power bank.

Of course, the battery is the most important component, but the wireless charging coils and magnetic connection are vital for efficient and therefore fast and powerful charging. The transmitter coil transfers power by electromagnetic induction.

The magnets need to be set up to exactly connect the transmitting coils—here on the power bank— to the receiving coils, in this case inside the iPhone.

The example shown above is the Torras MagStall Wireless Power Bank, reviewed in our chart. You can see the various parts, including that power bank’s rotating stand/handle.

Which magnetic wireless tech is right for each iPhone?

iPhone 7 and earlier: Don’t support wireless charging.

iPhone 8 – iPhone X/XS/XR: Support wireless charging. iPhone 8 and later can charge wirelessly at 7.5W but on a less efficient non-magnetic Qi pad.

iPhone 11 and earlier: Don’t support MagSafe. iPhone 8 and later can charge wirelessly but on a less efficient non-magnetic Qi pad.

iPhone 12 – iPhone 15: Support MagSafe and Qi2. Can wirelessly charge at 7.5W with “MagSafe-Compatible” power banks and chargers, and at 15W with certified MagSafe or Qi2 power banks and chargers.

iPhone 16 – iPhone 17: Support MagSafe, Qi2 and Qi2.2. Can wirelessly charge at 7.5W with “MagSafe-Compatible” power banks and chargers, at 15W with certified MagSafe or Qi2 power banks and chargers, and at 25W with Qi2.2-certified power banks and chargers.

What about non-wireless power banks?

Wireless charging—especially magnetic wireless charging—is super convenient and does away with the need to carry around messy cables to connect your device to the battery pack.

But wired charging is nearly always faster and not much of an inconvenience if you are not out and about. Over on our sister site Tech Advisor I have reviewed the best power banks that includes standard non-wireless battery packs that might be a decent solution as well as the power banks reviewed above.

Do magnetic power banks work when the iPhone is in a case?

Yes, most quality iPhone cases are compatible with MagSafe having their own magnet ring to ensure a close connection between the power bank’s magnetic charging coils and the iPhone’s own. You can find exactly which are supported in our roundups of the best iPhone 17 cases, best iPhone 16 cases and best iPhone 15 cases.

I’m a die-hard Apple user. Here’s the travel tech I refuse to leave at home

1 August 2026 at 20:54

Macworld

One of the things I enjoy doing most with my family is traveling. Annually, we go on two or three domestic trips (at least one of them to Hawaii to visit relatives). We try to go on an international trip every 18 months or so. Our most recent trip abroad was to South Africa in 2024, and we’re heading to Iceland this August. Then there are weekends away a few times a year.

Every great trip requires planning, whether it’s an overnight stay an hour away from home or a grand vacation in a country I’ve never visited before. Besides all the travel logistics (that my wife handles), there’s the tech you need to bring, which is my responsibility in my household.

Over the years, I’ve figured out what tech I absolutely need to take with me. There’s an art to figuring out what to bring. You don’t want to overdo it, because you’ll end up lugging around stuff you aren’t using. But you don’t want to be left without that thing you absolutely need and don’t really have a means of obtaining that item where you are.

While I now rely on my iPhone for all the photos and videos I shoot, I need other items to ensure a successful and enjoyable trip. Here’s a list of the gear I bring with me on my trips. This is the stuff I almost always bring no matter where I’m going. Hopefully, you can use this list to help you figure out what you need to bring on your next trip. If you have suggestions, drop me a line at rloyola@macworld.com. (Note: Prices stated here are MSRPs, but Amazon often runs sales and discounts on many of them.)

iPhone 17 Pro Max

Britta O’Boyle

There was a time when I would bring separate video and still cameras on every trip, but the iPhone has gotten so good, I don’t need any other camera. With some practice and knowledge of iOS’s features and settings, or with third-party camera apps, you can replicate the capabilities of cameras that cost hundreds more. Before the iPhone 17 Pro Max, I used an iPhone 16 Plus, but I really prefer to the Pro’s telephoto lens.

MacBook Neo

macbook neo 2026 indigo review 2

Eugen Wegmann

On longer trips where I’ll shoot a lot of photos and video, I bring a MacBook so I can browse and manage my shots after each day is done. I used to bring an extremely old MacBook Pro instead of the MacBook Pro that I use daily, so if it was lost, stolen, or damaged on the trip, I wouldn’t sweat it that much. But it’s also extremely slow and heavy. Even with a recent $100 price hike, the MacBook Neo is such a delight–lightweight, fast, and durable. And as I point out in my review, it doesn’t need to be a secondary machine—the Neo is extremely capable of being a daily-use Mac.

Saily for international eSIMs

Saily iphone 17 2026

Foundry

My carrier offers international connectivity by partnering with carriers in other countries. I’ve mostly had success with it, but sometimes there are gaps in coverage or the speeds are slow. On my last trip abroad, I tried a different approach: I took advantage of the iPhone’s dual eSIM and used Saily to get a second eSIM for the country I was visiting. With a second eSIM, I switched between it and my carrier’s offering to get the best possible connection. Overseas eSIMs are affordable–sometimes they’re really cheap, making it worth a try. Learn more about using an eSIM when traveling and about using two eSIMs in an iPhone.

Anker Nano Travel Adapter

More and more hotels, especially those that cater to international clientele, are starting to install wall outlets that can be used with the different types of power plugs. Hotels are also starting to have USB charging ports next to those wall outlets. But they’re not everywhere, so when you travel outside of the country, it’s good to have a power outlet adapter. The $26 Anker Nano Travel Adapter works in over 200 countries (it is not a voltage converter), and it can charge five devices at once.

Coiled USB Charging Cables

Cable Matters coiled USB-C USB-A cable

Cable Matters

I try to rely on wireless connectivity/charging when I travel, but at some point, a cable is needed. I like bringing coiled cables because I find them easier to manage, especially when I have to connect a few phones for several people in my travel party who need to charge. I have a USB-C cable ($14.99 two-pack), but I also pack a USB-A to USB-C cable ($14.99 two-pack) because I’ve yet to be on a plane with USB-C ports. And I pack a USB-A to Lightning cable ($16 two-pack), because people I travel with have older iPhones.

UGREEN 20000mAh 100W Power Bank

Foundry

You know what sucks? When you’re on a transcontinental flight and the outlets near your seat don’t work. That’s one of the reasons why I got the UGreen Nexode Power Bank 20000mAh 100W power bank. I’ve used it countless times when I couldn’t find a working outlet. It has enough juice to charge a laptop, and its 72-watt-hour capacity falls under the airline limits, so you can take it on a plane. Check out Macworld’s best laptop power banks for MacBooks for more options.

UGreen Magnetic Power Bank

Ugreen Magnetic Power Bank

Ugreen

I keep a MagSafe battery with me when I’m out exploring, just in case. This Ugreen model (I’m a fan, if you haven’t noticed) supports MagSafe and USB-C 20W charging, but I mostly stick it to the back of my iPhone with MagSafe. Read Macworld’s best picks for magnetic power banks and MagSafe portable chargers for iPhone if you want something with more juice.

Apple AirPods Pro

Apple AirPods Pro 3:

Andreas Bergsman

I prefer the $249 AirPods Pro 3 over the $179 AirPods 4 with ANC because the Pro’s in-ear fit seals out more noise and makes for a more comfortable trip on an airplane. AirPods go on sale often on Amazon, so look out for discounted prices. You can check out our AirPods Pro 3 review for in-depth testing, but you already know how great they are.

Sony MDR-EX15LP wired earphones

Sony MDR-EX15LP

Sony

I usually watch something on my iPhone during long flights, but sometimes the in-flight entertainment has something good. When I can, I plug in my own wired earphones to the airplane’s jack–I only use the ones the airline provides if the plane uses a two-prong audio jack. These Sony earphones with a 3.5mm connector are decent for the price ($10 on Amazon), and if I lose them, it’s not a big deal.

Moft Trackable Snap-on Phone Stand & Wallet

Moft Trackable Snap-on Phone Stand & Wallet

Moft

This $50 wallet doubles as a stand–one item to carry instead of two? Say less. It is also trackable with the Find My app, which I haven’t had to resort to, thankfully, but is very nice to have and props up the iPhone at a perfect angle for watching videos. Plus, this wallet holds two cards, just enough for an ID and a hotel room key.

Scosche WatchIt Keychain

Scosche WatchIt Keychain

Scosche

I’m not good about remembering to wear my Apple Watch every day, but I always take it when I travel, mostly because I use its remote trigger for the iPhone camera. I like this $35 Apple Watch charger because it’s small, even though the built-in USB-C port makes connecting it to a charger kind of tricky. But you can easily connect it to an iPhone or MacBook for a quick fill-up. See our other best Apple Watch Charger recommendations.

Pelican PX18 Aegis Backpack

Pelican Aegis Backpack 18 Liter

Pelican

I actually use an older Pelican backpack–it’s been with me for over 10 years now, and it’s the most durable backpack I’ve ever owned. But Pelican no longer makes it, and I’m eyeing the $200 Aegis to eventually replace it (if it ever wears out). It’s also available in a bigger 25-liter model. Lee Men’s Extreme Motion Canvas Cargo Pant

Lee Men's Performance Series Extreme Comfort Twill Straight Fit Cargo Pant

Lee

Before you write to me that Macworld isn’t in a position to give fashion advice, let me be clear: These pants are practical, not fashionable. Cargo pants are ideal for carrying the things I need while seeing the sites. No, I’m not wearing them to a formal dinner. I’m not that gauche. These $42 Lee cargo pants are comfortable, and they don’t have the cargo pocket flaps that I find get in the way.

We have reviewed a lot of MagSafe and compatible magnetic chargers ever since the first wireless iPhone 8 and later magnetic wireless iPhone 12. Check them out in our best MagSafe chargers roundup. Some have been useful as phone stands, some have folded into pocketable travel companions, while others have included built-in power banks to save you on the road.

But few have been able to grace a bedroom nightstand or designer desk without incongruously looking exactly like something there do charge your devices. That’s where the Journey Nova stands out, and a new black model adds a touch of sultry class.

Design

The Journey Nova looks like no other wireless charger and is sure to grace the pages of your favorite home-style magazine. Journey has directly tried to find an “anti-tech aesthetic” that it believes will complement decors “much like a vase, chair, or pot plant might”.

Journey Nova 3 in 1 Wireless Charging Station back no cable

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry

Its 6-inch vertical hollow block gives it a feeling of both weight and lightness while taking up little space with its small footprint: 3.2 x 3.6 inches (8 x 9.2cm). The split-material—with either wood grain or what Journey calls “Sparkle Gray” below a matte Corian-like white and now black—look gives it a Skandi design identity. The look won’t be for everyone, but there’s no denying the striking pose it cuts on a desk or table.

The iPhone magnetically connects to the 15W Qi2 wireless charging space above the hollow 5W Qi pad for AirPods charging. Inside that hollow is a guiding night light that can be switched on or off with a light touch under the roof.

Journey Nova 3 in 1 Wireless Charging Station back

At the back you can flip out the 5W Apple Watch charger module, keeping it both hidden and protected when not in use. That means each device gets as fast a wireless charge as can be got outside of Apple’s unique (iPhone 16-only) 25W MagSafe Charger. Additionally, the Apple Watch module is certified by Apple for fast Watch charging, and 5W is plenty for a swift AirPods power-up.

If there anyone out there who owns an Apple Watch and AirPods but an Android phone (unlikely given the Watch doesn’t play well with Android and AirPods work best with an iPhone), Journey includes a magnetic ring to update non-MagSafe smartphones to work with Qi2.

Price

The Journey Nova costs $139.99 / £119.99 / AU$189.99. This is not a huge extra expense on some of our favorite 3-in-1 wireless chargers such as the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe, which is more flexible but looks utilitarian in comparison to Nova.

The Mophie StealthCharge 4-in-1 Wireless Charge Stand (also available as a 3-in-1) is a speedier 25W charger with a spare retractable USB-C cable for your MacBook, but it doesn’t have the interior design chic of the Nova.

There are certainly cheaper 3-in-1 chargers but none would grace the style section of the Sunday newspapers with the possible exception of the squatter but still lovely Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Dock.

What you get is a bold, décor-friendly look allied with top-end charging tech that features just one cable to power all your mobile and wearable gadgets in a style sympathetic to the smartest homes.

If you value your home décor and don’t want an out-of-place ugly charger sitting by your bed or on your minimalist desk, the Journey Nova offers style-magazine looks alongside the fastest wireless charging speeds, and now a new black model if you prefer your chargers dark and moody.

31 July 2026 at 09:00

  • iPhone/AirPods/ Watch charge simultaneously.
  • Compact when folded
  • 25W iPhone charging
  • StealthCharge wireless charging tech
  • Smart travel case

  • Smaller rivals

Our Verdict

The Mophie Roam stands out not just because it supports 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging, but because its StealthCharge technology keeps heat away from the charging pad, helping maintain maximum charging speeds without throttling. Rather than chasing the smallest possible design, Mophie targets premium travellers with a beautifully finished package that includes a travel case, global plug adapters and matching accessories

What is it? 25W foldable 3-in-1 travel charger for Apple iPhone, Watch and AirPods.

Who is it for? iPhone 16 or later owners who want the fastest wireless charging for all their Apple mobile devices.

Who shouldn’t buy it? People not planning to travel can save on buying this package with travel pouch and plug adapters, and should instead consider the more fixed Mophie 4-in-1 wireless desktop charger that employs the same StealthCharge technology.

Many Apple users rely on their iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods every day — all of which need charging every day, too.

We’ve reviewed the best wireless iPhone chargers and best Apple Watch chargers, which include 3-in-1 Apple chargers that handle all of them with elan.

The number of 3-in-1 travel chargers for iPhone, Watch and AirPods is growing at the same rate that their size is shrinking. Some of our favorites include the Twelve South Butterfly SE, Anker MagGo Folding, Kuxiu X40, and Satechi OnTheGo.

Rather than competing in the race to be the smallest travel charger, Mophie has focused on creating a premium travel package. The Roam combines 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging with its clever StealthCharge technology, which keeps heat away from the charging pad to help sustain maximum charging speeds without throttling. It also includes a matching zipped travel case, global plug adapters, a 40W charger and coordinated accessories for frequent travellers.

Simon Jary

How compact is the Mophie Roam?

To be a bona fide “travel charger” the product must fold up to fit in a pocket and unfold to present three accessible wireless charging pads.

Like all the above travel chargers, the Mophie Roam does exactly that.

Mophie Roam 3 in 1 Travel Charger above 2

Simon Jary

It’s a bi-fold, meaning it consists of two hinged sections. Two becomes three because the iPhone Qi2.2 charging pad raises into a stand (allowing for Apple’s StandBy mode), exposing the AirPods Qi pad. The Watch charging module is on the other side of the fold, with it also rising into a stand so the Watch can be seen in Nightstand mode.

Folded it measures 3 x 2.8 x 1.3 inches (76 x 71 x 33mm); unfolded it’s 6.4 inches (162mm) wide. It weighs 233g.

Simon Jary

How does it compare with rival travel chargers?

There are smaller and lighter travel chargers available, but choosing between them will most likely come down to aesthetic preferences rather than cold dimensional comparisons. Even so, here are the facts:

Mophie Roam (3-in-1)

  • Charge: 25W/5W/5W
  • Size: 76 x 71 x 33mm
  • Weight: 233g
  • Colors: Black, Sail Cream
  • Extras: Case, 40W charger, cable, plug adapters
  • Price: $149.95 / £119.95

Kuxiu X40 (3-in-1)

  • Charge: 25W/5W/5W
  • Size: 64 x 64 x 18mm
  • Weight: 148g
  • Colors: Black, Gray, Wood Grain, Cosmic Orange, Dark Cherry
  • Extras: Case, 45W charger, cable
  • Price: $79.99 / £61

Anker MagGo (3-in-1)

  • Charge: 15W/5W/5W
  • Size: 60 x 60 x 36mm
  • Weight: 108g
  • Colors: Black, White, Pink, Teal
  • Extras: 40W charger, cable, plug adapters
  • Price: $89.99 / £89.99

Satechi OnTheGo (3-in-1)

  • Charge: 15W/5W/5W
  • Size: 83 x 67 x 34mm
  • Weight: 146g
  • Colors: Black, Sand, Desert Rose
  • Extras: Pouch, cable
  • Price: $99.99 / £99.99

Belkin UltraCharge Pro (2-in-1)

  • Charge: 25W/5W
  • Size: 67 x 67 x 38mm
  • Weight: 202g
  • Colors: Black, Sand
  • Extras: 45W charger, cable
  • Price: $129.95 / £129.95

Twelve South Butterfly SE (2-in-1)

  • Charge: 15W/5W
  • Size: 60 x 60 x 23mm
  • Weight: 105g
  • Colors: Black, White, Blue, Plum, Pink, Iridescent
  • Extras: Cable
  • Price: $99.99 / £79.99

Check out the individual reviews for more detail and pictures. The smallest and cheapest 3-in-1 is the Kuxiu X40, which can be raised to the tallest height. The Butterfly SE is dinkier but can simultaneously charge only two devices. The lightest is the Anker MagGo Foldable.

With its StealthCharge technology, the Roam is fastest—although not by a huge margin on the Kuxiu X40 or Belkin UltraCharge Pro.

The Roam comes with the nicest extras but is also markedly the priciest.

Mophie Roam 3 in 1 Travel Charger above

Simon Jary

How fast does it charge?

  • iPhone: 25W (Qi2.2)
  • Apple Watch: 5W
  • AirPods: 5W

These are the wireless fast-charging speeds for each device. Some Watch chargers reach 7.5W, but Apple classes 5W as fast-charging for the Watch. In our tests our Watch (Series 8) charged to 50% in 25 minutes.

Only the Kuxiu X40 and its cheaper but slightly larger X55 sibling match the Mophie Roam at 25W for iPhone wireless charging, with the others on the older 15W Qi2 standard.

Note that only iPhones 16 and later support wireless 25W charging; iPhones 12-15 can still be charged using Qi2.2 chargers such as the Roam but at 15W.

Where Mophie differs is its clever StealthCharge technology that moves the main components that generate heat away from the charging pad itself to keep it as cool as possible during charging as 25W can get hot enough to force the iPhone into throttling power to protect its battery from the heat.

If kept cool, a phone should charge uninterrupted at full speed. Some chargers include fans to keep the pad and phone cool, but StealthCharge removes the need for them and so goes about its business silently. Vents at the back no doubt help too.

Mophie Roam 3 in 1 Travel Charger front

Simon Jary

What’s included in the box?

The Mophie Roam ships with five interchangeable adapters—for North America, Europe, U.K., Australia and New Zealand, and Korea—in its rather lovely travel pouch with organizer pockets for everything including its 5ft (1.5m) USB-C cable, 40W charger and international plugs.

The pouch measures 10.9 x 3 inches (277 x 76mm).

There’s even a little weighted cable accessory to keep it all neat and tidy, which in black is the only thing in the Sail Cream-colored model that’s not matching.

Sail Cream is a lux off-white. Roam is also available in Black.

Mophie Roam Travel Charger Sail back black front

Mophie

Is the Mophie Roam worth $149?

The Mophie Roam is priced at $149.95 / £119.95, which is a decent chunk more than its rivals.

It ships with the nicest travel case and color-matched extras such as the 40W charger with international plug adapters.

Should you buy the Mophie Roam Travel Charger?

The whole package—pocketable 3-in-1 folding travel charger, travel case, charger, plug adapters, and cable—is beautifully put together, and more importantly the tech is not only the fastest possible but includes clever features that ensure that fast wireless charging speed is maintained from start to finish.

20 July 2026 at 10:11

-30 %

Heading to a festival? These are the best power packs to keep your devices juiced up

18 July 2026 at 07:00

Festivals pose a bit of a conundrum when it comes to charging. It's really useful to have a phone — for checking programs, finding friends, and snapping photos — but the days are long, and there's minimal access to power points. A power pack is your best friend, and below I've rounded up the best models for festival-goers.

I've included a mix of options. There are compact, lightweight power banks that won't weigh your bag down and can charge your phone while you're using it. These can generally only manage two charges at the absolute maximum, so they're best suited to one- or two-day festivals, or festivals where you'll have overnight access to power. There are also larger power packs that offer multiple recharges, but which are generally too bulky and heavy to carry around all day.

Our seasoned reviewers have tested all of these power banks personally, and given them their stamp of approval. You can hit the 'More details' button to find out more about each one, and for a link to the full review, and there's also a handy specs table at the bottom of the page so you can see how the different options match up. Can't find what you're looking for? Our general best power bank guide has a wider range of options.

Best MagSafe and magnetic wireless chargers for iPhone

17 July 2026 at 11:15

Macworld

We’ve rounded up the best MagSafe, Qi2, Qi2.2 25W, and MagSafe-compatible magnetic chargers, from the plain pad to multi-functional stands (up to six devices charged), and even the most colorful—from snap-on chargers and modular stands to foldable power banks and full charging desk mats.

Apple’s MagSafe technology, supported by all models of iPhone since the iPhone 12 (except the iPhone SE and 16e), presents a more efficient way of wirelessly charging compatible iPhones. MagSafe is the ring of magnets around the iPhone’s internal charging coil that senses compatible accessories and magnetically snaps securely into the most efficient charging position with the right accessories. With MagSafe, you’re less likely to wake up to find your phone wasn’t correctly placed on the wireless charger so didn’t charge at all!

Testing the best for you

We have tested a lot of magnetic chargers—MagSafe, Qi2 and Compatible—and here inform you which one will work best for you. There are simple magnetic wireless chargers, multi-device chargers for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, travel chargers, car chargers and more.

Offering up to 25W power output in the right configuration, MagSafe charging is much faster than basic 7.5W magnetic wireless charging. The similar magentic Qi2 standard, supported by the iPhone 13-17 families (and unofficially the iPhone 12 but strangely not the latest 16e) offers similar 15W speed charging. Qi 2.2, also known as Qi2 25W, meets MagSafe at 25W for iPhone 16/17 series.

MagSafe or Qi2 certification

Apple certifies MagSafe accessories to ensures that the output charging is 15W for most iPhones, and up to 25W for iPhone 16 and 17 (with Apple’s latest MagSafe charger or chargers certified for Qi2 25W). Non-certified magnetic but “MagSafe-compatible” chargers are usually just 7.5W with a ring of magnets to hold your phone in place. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device and a built-in magnetometer to prevent compass interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging.

In our tests, 15W MagSafe and Qi2 chargers are evenly matched for charging speeds. 7.5W MagSafe compatible chargers, as you might expect, take around twice as long—certainly in the early stages of charging. But don’t rule out 7.5W chargers as they are often high quality, nearly always noticeably cheaper and just take a while longer to fully charge an iPhone. The king of the hill is Apple’s new MagSafe charger and chargers based on the new Qi2 25W technology that are definitely faster at 25W, but only with iPhone 16 or later.

Made for MagSafe and Qi2 and Qi2 25W logos

Foundry

Simple vs multi-device magnetic chargers

The most basic form of MagSafe or magnetic charger is the simple pad that latches on to the compatible iPhone. Some pads feature a pop-out arm so the iPhone can be propped up while charging. There are also products that can simultaneously charge an iPhone plus other Apple devices, such as an Apple Watch or wireless AirPods charging case. Note that the AirPods case must be of the wireless variety, and the original AirPods case lacked this functionality. The base of a multi-charger could also be used to charge a second iPhone but mostly not magnetically and at 5W rather than 7.5W, 15W, or 25W. Also see our round up of the Best Apple Watch chargers and stands.

Best simple MagSafe chargers

A simple MagSafe charging pad is the cheapest route to wireless iPhone charging. If you are going to the bother of connecting this product to a wall charger, why not just use a Lightning (iPhone 14 or earlier) or USB-C (iPhone 15 and up) cable direct to the iPhone? You can fast-charge an iPhone to 50% battery in under 30 minutes using a cable and just over that using a 25W charger, while it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge iPhone from 0 to 50% using even 15W MagSafe.

That said, there are interesting options to choose from. After these we’ll look at more multi-functional MagSafe chargers.

The most obvious MagSafe Charger to buy for your Apple iPhone is, of course, the Apple MagSafe Charger. It’s the charger that Apple would have shipped with the iPhone if it did such things anymore. It’s as minimalist a design as you’d expect from Apple–it looks a lot like a giant Apple Watch Charger. You can also use it to charge your AirPods.

Apple’s latest version of this charger offers 15W Qi2 support and, more importantly, a faster 25W charging speed with iPhone 16 and later. It also added a 2-meter length option for $10/£10 more, which is very welcome. At least a 30W USB-C power adapter is required for 25W charging.

In our tests using the Apple MagSafe Charger we wirelessly powered up an iPhone 16 Pro from 0% to 50% in just over 30 minutes.

It can also charge your AirPods case (AirPods 2 or AirPods Pro), although not at the same time as the iPhone—for that, you’ll need at least a 2-in-1 wireless charger.

The standard 1m cable is too short to comfortably charge and use your iPhone at the same time, or maybe stretch from a power socket to a nearby table, so we recommend the 2m upgrade. Don’t forget that this Apple charger still requires a USB-C power adapter—at least 20W if you want 15W charging and at least 30W to enable 25W charging.

The Ugreen MagFlow Qi2 25W Magnetic Wireless Charging Pad isn’t too dissimilar to the 25W Apple MagSafe Charger except that it’s a fetching shade of what Apple would call Mist or Sky Blue. As such it would perfectly suit the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air of those shades.

Another difference is the length of cable and maybe 1.5m is a Goldilocks length for you if Apple’s 1m cable is too short and 2m cable too long.

Other than that, this simple charger matches the Apple pad for speed (25W for iPhone 16/17 and 15W for iPhone 12-15), and is more likely to be found discounted than the Apple either direct or on Amazon. It’s a solid alternative to Apple if any of these differences take your fancy.

Another basic magnetic charger, Anker’s Zolo Magnetic Wireless Charger Pad works just like the Apple pad, and also at a fast 15W—although it’s technology is Qi2 rather than Apple MagSafe. iPhone 16 and 17 owners should consider spending the extra on the Apple charger (reviewed above) for its special 25W charging speed. Owners of iPhone 15 or earlier can rest assured that this charger is as fast as the Apple one.

It works just as well, though, and is one of the cheaper premium magnetic chargers. The cable is a decent length at 1.5m—half again as long as that on the base model Apple MagSafe Charger pad, but not as long as on the top-end 2m Apple charger or the 2m Belkin MagSafe charger reviewed below.

Like Apple’s MagSafe Charger it can also charge your AirPods case (AirPods 2 or AirPods Pro) when the iPhone is removed.

In the U.S. Anker offers this charger only in a two-pack. A spare charger for downstairs, the office, bedroom, car and so on is always useful.

The 25W Belkin UltraCharge Magnetic Charger Pad is now just as fast as Apple’s charger for the iPhone 16/17 families, and comes with a long cable and handy pop-up stand. The cable is twice as long as Apple’s basic model, which makes using the phone much easier when charging. It’s also thicker nylon-braided cable with a handy integrated silicone cable tie.

Belkin sells two versions, one with a squarer back shape and one rounder—the difference is minimal. There’s also an option to buy with a 36W power adapter (for a very reasonable extra $10) included or just on its own if you already have a wall charger to use.

Again, a straight cable connection will be faster but we like the kickstand, which you don’t get with a standard cable connection.

There are a few very similar Belkin Charger Pads so make sure you get what you’re after. For example, there is a slower but slightly more affordable 15W BoostCharge Pro Magnetic Charging Pad with stand (Amazon or Amazon UK) and 7.5W MagSafe-compatible BoostCharge Charger Pad (Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K.) that lacks the stand. If you just want a cheap MagSafe-compatible charging pad, this is a decent option. Be warned: Belkin also sells a Qi Wireless Charging Pad that lacks the magnetic connection so is not recommended as it will be picky where the phone is placed and slower to charge as a result.

This is a small, simple (but slow) magnetic charging pad that has a kickstand that lets you prop your attached iPhone 12/13/14/15/16/17 up either in landscape or portrait mode for video viewing or hands-free FaceTime calls. It’s a more affordable but slower alternative to the Belkin pad reviewed above.

The detachable cable length is reasonable at 1.5m and matches the four colors, so is wildly more flamboyant than the other magnetic wireless chargers tested here, except for…

We picked the English Breakfast pattern for its sheer wanton oddness but there are plenty of other patterns (Acid, Checks, Cherry Blossom) and pictures (Yeti, Harry Potter, Snoopy) to choose from.

Indeed, there are a sometimes baffling 759 different wireless charger designs to choose from. Most are quite random but there are themes such as Street Art and Anime, plus characters such as Doreamon and SpongeBob, and individual artists, with the option to customize a plain charger with text.

This 100% recyclable slim charger has eco sustainability points, too, as it’s made with recycled aluminum and printed with eco-friendly ink.

This magnetic charging nightstand uses Qi2 so can charge wirelessly at 15W. Even though it ships with additional U.K. and E.U. plug adapters that clip on the included mini 20W wall charger it’s probably too heavy for travel, but that heft makes it super stable when in landscape StandBy mode.

It is less of an easy fit in a portrait (vertical) orientation as the bottom of the iPhone pushes the stand up onto its edge. It’s still stable but looks a little odd from the side. On a nightstand landscape makes more sense anyway. It can be laid flat to wirelessly charge your AirPods case, too, at 7.5W.

What really stands out is the gorgeous Dark Cherry color that is available as an Apple Store exclusive.

Best 2-in-1 MagSafe chargers

Why restrict your charger to just one device? You can buy MagSafe chargers that tackle up to six different devices at the same time. Here, we start with basic 2-in-1 MagSafe chargers that can wirelessly charge your iPhone and AirPods case (the case must be wireless-charging enabled). Most multi-device chargers are stands but there are also folding travel chargers that work equally well full-time on your desk or nightstand or on the road with you at your hotel or office space.

Some 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 magnetic chargers are more portable than others so make sure to keep reading this feature for our list of Best travel MagSafe chargers, which may better suit your needs than these more static chargers.

While the Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 and Belkin 2-in-1 25W wireless charging stands, reviewed above, can fold into a portable package, they are nowhere near as compact and lightweight (7.5oz / 212g) as Ugreen’s 2-in-1 MagFlow magnetic wireless charger, which folds down into a tiny pocketable cube (2.4 x 2.4 x 1.5 inches or 6 x 6 x 4cm).

It’s also as fast as you can get for wirelessly charging an iPhone 16 or 17; older iPhones charge at 15W.

Once open there’s a 5W Qi pad for AirPods and a 25W Qi2 pad for iPhone. A USB-C port on one side allows you to plug in your Apple Watch charging cable for 5W speedy charging, too—so you can almost call it a 3-in-1 except that you need a Watch charging cable to connect.

The iPhone-charging pad can be raised to about 3 inches (8cm), and can be angled to your preference.

Ugreen Qi2 15W 2-in-1 wireless chargers

Ugreen

Ugreen also sells a slightly cheaper aluminum gray $49 Qi2 2-in-1 Magnetic Charger that looks similar but charges the phone at a slower 15W, and a flatter 15W Qi2 MagFlow 2-in-1, both pictured above, that measures 4.6 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches (11.6 x 5.5 x 2.4cm) and will slip into a pocket easier than the cube shape. That model doesn’t have the side USB-C port, though.

The Nomad Stand One uses Qi 2.2 wireless charging technology, so offers the super-fast 25W charging speed.

It’s a lovely looking stand that is the sturdiest wireless charging stand we’ve tested, with a real heft and an anti-slip rubber base. It measures 3.2 x 6.3 x 5 inches (8.2 x 16.1 x 12.8cm) and weighs nearly 2lbs (just under 1kg), so could be used as a paperweight if you have your desk fan turned up too high. It’s made of metal with a glass panel that gives it a glossy Apple-like look from the front.

The 21-degree viewing angle works well for comfortable viewing but if you want to customize the angle to your own liking you’ll need to choose one of the more adjustable 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 wireless chargers reviewed below.

Nomad does make a 3-in-1 version, the $159 Stand One Max, which can charge iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time. This also looks great and also charges the iPhone at a rapid 25W.

One of the new breed of Qi2 25W wireless chargers, the Belkin 2-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger with Qi2 25W folds up to a very pocketable 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.94 inches (10.6 x 6 x 2.4cm) and weighs 5.1oz (146g). It’s available in two forms: one with rounded edges (pictured) and one that’s straighter. Both are smooth but may be a little too plasticky for some tastes. The blue version is rather natty, though.

It passed our 25W charging test by getting an iPhone 16 Pro from 0% to 50% in 33 minutes. There’s a side 5W USB-C port that you can plug an Apple Watch charger into.

As a fold-up charger it’s suitably travel friendly. Alternatives include the Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable and the Ugreen MagFlow Foldable 2-in-1, both reviewed below. The 15W Satechi is slower and larger than the two 25W 2-in-1 chargers but we still like its more solid desktop looks. Choose between the Belkin and Ugreen on form factor and price. Note that the Ugreen doesn’t ship with a USB-C charger, while the Belkin does.

With a remarkably small 3.5-inch square (9cm) footprint, this 2-in-1 charger uses the Qi2 wireless charging technology to match MagSafe on 15W speed. The AirPod charging pad charges at 5W and could be used to charge a second phone, although much slower than using the raised magnetic pad.

It even folds up flat to make it travel friendly, although you’ll need to supply your own USB-C wall charger. It’s pretty light at just 9.6oz (272g).

The Anker MagGo range has a version for just about everyone, and this is a 2-in-1 version of the simpler iPhone-only magnetic wireless charger stand reviewed earlier. It is not portable like the Satechi and Ugreen 2-in-1 chargers, also reviewed above, but it is a good-looking stand for your desk or nightstand.

Built to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15/16/17 and wireless AirPod case charger, it is reaches the same 15W phone charging heights with its Qi2 technology. The AirPods are charged at 5W, which is standard for all such multi-device magnetic chargers.

You get angled landscape (up to 45 degrees) and portrait modes with this good-looking stand from one of our favorite premium accessory makers. The magnetic link is super strong so you don’t need to worry about the iPhone falling off even during re-angling.

If you’re not in a hurry, you can still find the Anker 7.5W PowerWave model a little cheaper but we like the faster charge on the 15W version. If you’re in a real hurry you’d be better off using a cable than using even a 15W or 25W certified MagSafe charger anyway.

We’ve chosen this fast magnetic charger not because of its heroically long-winded name but for its designer good looks. It’s a minimalist 2-in-1 charging stand that can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and fast-charge an Apple Watch. The top pad can angle at up to 70 degrees.

Steve Jobs and Jony Ive knew that tech should aspire to timeless design, and it’s no surprise that Apple has chosen to stock the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Dock MagSafe charger in its stores. There are other magnetic wireless chargers reviewed here that can do more and at lower prices, but this is one we’d proudly place on our designer desk to show off rather than hide away.

The dock’s organic looks are complemented by the two available neutral yet naturalistic colors: Charcoal and Sand.

This is a smart MacBook or iPad charging USB-C cable that includes a 15W wireless pad for iPhone or AirPods case plus an adjustable 5W Apple Watch charger. Built of aluminum, it’s quite chunky but is probably all you need on your travels alongside at least a 65W USB-C charger, and it folds up on itself for easy transport.

It’s rated at 140W so is up to fast-charging even the 16-inch MacBook Pro, and just as adept at either wired or wirelessly charging Apple’s recent USB-C devices.

If you don’t own an Apple Watch—and have no intention of doing so—Zens has a version (the $49.95 Zens USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable Pro 2) without that module, and just the iPhone/AirPods wireless pad in the middle of the 140W cable.

Both are available from the Apple Store in an exclusive Dark Cherry color.

Belkin’s expanding range of fast Qi2 wireless chargers includes a simple pad that can fit an iPhone plus an AirPods case. Although it doesn’t include an Apple Watch charging module, there is a 5W USB-C port that you can connect your Watch-charging cable into and charge all three devices simultaneously.

As a 2-in-1 solution it is cheaper and better suited for those who haven’t succumbed to the Apple Watch.

Being certified as Qi2 means that it can wirelessly charge at the same 15W as official MagSafe chargers but not 25W like the Apple MagSafe Charger or newer Qi2 25W chargers can for the iPhone 16 and later.

The pad is reassuringly heavy so you won’t pull it off your bedside table when you remove your iPhone from the magnetic pad. This makes it less obviously portable, but it’s small and flat enough to slip into a backpack.

As it’s a pad you can’t angle the phone into StandBy mode. If you want to more easily see the time on your nightstand, consider one of the charging stands reviewed above. It ships with a 30W USB-C wall charger and cable.

Unless you own expensive burner iPhones, this charger is made for homes or offices where friends, family and colleagues can charge their iPhones at the same time and in the same place using just one power socket. We didn’t include it in our 3-in-1 roundup (see this immediately below) as it doesn’t charge the Apple Watch, although it can certainly power up three devices at the same time.

It’s the only magnetic wireless charging stand we’ve tested that charges two iPhones on a proper stand, and there’s a 3.5W Qi wireless charging pad underneath for one set of AirPods—your pal’s earbuds will have to wait their turn. The charging pads are not adjustable but the angle is perfect for screen viewing.

The SwanScout 706M is MagSafe Compatible rather than certified MagSafe or Qi2 so its wireless charging speed is limited to 7.5W or 10W shared across the two iPhone pads. That makes it a slow charge but this is fine for a nightstand where you have several hours for charging.

Best 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers

If you have brought full-in on the Apple product ecosystem, and have iPhone, AirPods and an Apple Watch, there are some great 3-in-1 magnetic chargers that will wirelessly charge all three devices simultaneously. 3-in-1 charging stands save you precious desk space or keep your nightstand or bedside table clear of clutter, while ensuring that you don’t run out of power during the day.

In a technology it’s called StealthCharge, Mophie has cleverly moved the the hottest components from the charging pad itself (in direct contact with the phone) to the product’s base. In effect, the base now serves as a heat sink to dissipate heat more efficiently. This means there’s no need for a noisy fan to keep the phone cool enough to receive a steady charge and maintain the fastest speeds.

It’s a small-footprint but tall charger, available in three colors, as well as a 4-in-1 version (reviewed here further down) that boasts a hidden 60W retractable USB-C cable that you can use to charge another USB-C device such as your MacBook.

The first Qi2 25W charger in the Macworld labs was Belkin’s UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock. Not only is this a super-speedy 3-in-1 charger, it’s a striking low-profile design with adjustable charging pad angling off a chrome-finished metal frame. The certified Apple Watch charger is fast, too.

Qi2 25W (sometimes known as Qi 2.2) takes wireless charging from its 15W maximum to a heady 25W. Previously only possible on the latest version of Apple’s own MagSafe Charger, 25W theoretically moves a 50% iPhone refill from 45 to just 25 minutes but environmental conditions such as temperature and the power used by the phone while being charged mean that 30-35 minutes is a more more realistic charging time for 25W. For wireless charging that’s still a big leap forward.

As 25W is achievable only with an iPhone 16 or 17 running at least iOS 26 it’s a new frontier for iPhone users. 25W chargers still work with earlier iPhones (12-15) but are pegged back at Qi2’s 15W maximum. All will feel the benefit of Belkin’s built-in active cooling ChillBoost fan.

This Anker Prime 3-in-1 iPhone stand takes speedy Qi2 25W charging to a traditionally elegant arm-based charging station design where the iPhone and Watch charging pads are suspended from the circular base. In our tests it came out fastest of all the 25W wireless chargers we have run through their paces—charging an iPhone 16 Pro to 50% in just 28 minutes.

The iPhone and Watch charging pads are held high on chrome arms that are angled for viewing angle and overall stand stability. We appreciate that the angle of the iPhone pad can be adjusted to your liking. The AirPods Qi pad is in the base beneath the arms and behind a neat and informative 1.65-inch HD smart display that is the first we’ve seen on such a stand. This is combined with app connectivity, so you can view power flow, charging temperature, and more. This where you can set the charging mode and also customize the clock face.

More affordable than the Anker 3-in-1 but slower at 15W, Belkin’s wireless charging stand is similarly elegant and with an even more adjustable iPhone pad (90 degrees vs Anker’s 80). The arm placement is different but not functionally, so the design choice at least come down to personal preference.

While the iPhone charging is slower (15W vs 25W) the Watch and AirPods will power up in roughly the same time as you get with the Anker 3-in-1. If you are charging your iPhone overnight or have more time on your hand, the speed difference shouldn’t matter. It also lacks the Anker’s smart display if you like to keep up to date with exactly how fast your devices are charging.

Another Qi2 25W solution, the ESR 3-in-1 25W Charging Station offers fast 25W iPhone wireless charging and 5W Apple Watch fast charging in a small-footprint design (3.4-inch square base) that tucks the Apple Watch charger at the back. The Watch charger is detachable, meaning you can remove it and take it with you to plug directly into any USB-C charging port. This is a useful option missing from most other 3-in-1 chargers, although the opportunity to later mislay it must be considered.

Where this charger excels is wireless charging speed. As with the Belkin UltraCharge Pro, reviewed above, it uses a fan-based cooling technology (ESR’s is called CryoBoost) with advanced heat-dissipation that makes the operation more battery friendly—resulting in significantly faster charging times.

The ESR’s Qi 2.2 pad is not adjustable, although you can position the iPhone in either landscape (StandBy) or portrait orientations. In this way it lacks the front-facing flexibility of the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe, reviewed further down, but it is available at a significantly lower price and much faster. It comes with a decent-length cable and a 50W USB-C wall charger.

Remember that 25W is only possible for users of the iPhone 16 or 17. Owners of pre-iPhone 16 models can save money by buying the Qi2 15W model ESR 3-in-1 Charger with CryoBoost that’s a little taller but otherwise distinguished only by the 15W maximum speed and a 35W charger compared to the 50W wall charger that ships with the 25W model. In our tests this cheaper Qi2-based CryoBoost 3-in-1 Charger took only 10 minutes longer to charge an iPhone 16 Pro to 50% than the 25W charger. If you can handle waiting that long, you can save some serious money, but those seemingly few minutes do add up over the lifetime of the product.

As with the 2-in-1 model, we are big fans of the Satechi Qi2 Foldable 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand.

It has the same small 3.5-inch square (90mm) footprint, and Qi2.2 wireless charging technology to match MagSafe on 25W speed for iPhone 16 and later (older iPhones will charge at 15W). The AirPod charging pad charges at 5W and could instead charge a second phone, although much slower than with the MagSafe pad. Apple Watch charging is fast, with the back-mounted pad providing 5W of power.

It too folds up flat to make it travel friendly, and this time comes with a 45W USB-C chargers that is further boosted with U.K. and E.U. travel adapters. For a 3-in-1, it’s reasonably light at just 14.1oz (399g)—about the same as the cuter and more compact Anker 3-in-1 Cube, reviewed below. If you want a 3-in-1 that fits in your trouser pocket, look to the Kuxiu X40 Turbo, reviewed below in the travel charger section.

It’s not as affordable as ESR’s 15W 3-in-1 Charging Strand ($84.99) so misses our budget recommendation. However, with its foldability and travel plugs, this makes a great charging station choice for at base and on your travels—see lower down for more best MagSafe travel chargers. if you don’t mind the Watch at the back, this charger’s flexibility and fast speeds makes it an easy recommendation.

The most solid of Ugreen’s 25W MagFlow range of wireless chargers, is desktop model is lightweight but feels sturdy due to its grippy rubber feet.

The Anker 3-in-1 Cube MagSafe charger is certified by Apple, so offers 15W wireless charging plus 5W for AirPods and 5W for Apple Watch. Although on the heavy side, it’s super-compact and great for travel. The Watch charging part is hidden in the cube until you need it. It comes with a 30W USB-C wall charger with switchable UK and EU plug fittings that slide onto the US plug prongs.

Its tiny footprint means it takes up little space on your desk or bedside cable, too. If you don’t own an Apple Watch, consider the equally dinky Ugreen 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, reviewed in our 2-in-1 roundup above. The stand works in landscape and portrait orientations but isn’t high. It does have adjustable viewing angles up to 60°.

It has 15W iPhone Qi2 charging, 5W Apple Watch fast charge and 5W AirPods Qi charging pad. The iPhone pad can be raised to create a stand, just like the Nimble.

It measures 8.2-x-3.8-x-0.8 inches (20.9-x-9.7-x-2.1cm) and weighs 12.6oz (358g). Its light enough to be portable, and the international travel plugs cover lot of countries.

The Nimble Podium 3-in-1 Wireless Charger, like the shorter Satechi Qi2 Trio Wireless Charging Pad reviewed above, hosts an adjustable iPhone charging pad but its is placed in the center of the three charging points rather than to one side. It measures 9-x-3.4-x-0.8 inches (22.9-x-8.6-x-2cm) and weighs 15.6oz (443g).

The fact that it’s heavier than the Satechi 3-in-1 flat pads shouldn’t be a problem unless you are planning to carry it with you as a portable charger—and we think there are much dinkier and suitable travel chargers to choose from. Its extra weight makes this solid desktop stand a more stable base.

Both iPhone and Watch charging pad can be angled upward. The Podium is available in black direct or from Amazon, and also in white as an Apple Store exclusive.

This 3-in-1 Apple device wireless charger is well made and has one of the smallest desktop footprints we have seen. It can fast charge the Apple Watch and has Qi2 wireless charging technology so hits the top 15W speed when charging an iPhone 12-17.

The charging modules are fixed, which doesn’t give you any flexibility for adjusting the phone position aside from choosing whether to place it in either landscape or portrait orientation.

The 45W charger is more powerful than some we’ve tested, and we like that it comes with plug heads for U.S., U.K. and E.U. sockets.

If you want to properly raise your iPhone in a stand, this Mophie 3-in-1 charging stand is height adjustable between 7.5 to 16 inches (19-40cm). The MagSafe mount is tilt adjustable, too, making this stand great for using FaceTime on the iPhone.

Fully Apple certified, it wirelessly charges an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch. While it feels stable, we’d have preferred a less plasticky stand column.

The Zens 4-in-1 Modular Charging Station for iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch and iPad is a MagSafe-certified charging stand made from recycled plastic that can handle not just four Apple devices but more if you buy extra charging modules (up to three at one time) to connect. Any MagSafe iPhone (12-17) can be wirelessly charged at up to 15W, faster than non-certified MagSafe-compatible chargers but not at the possible fastest 25W speed. AirPods and Apple Watch will each charge wirelessly at 5W.

The iPhone can be placed in either portrait or landscape mode. At the back is a stand where you can place an iPad, which can be wired charged via a side-mounted USB-C port at up to 30W. All devices can be charged simultaneously as the power supply has a 65W total output. The Watch module that ships with the 4-in-1 charger can handily be situated on either the right- or left-hand side depending on your preference. Modules attach magnetically. The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when traveling.

This 4-in-1 is the same size as most 3-in-1 charging pads but can wirelessly charge two iPhones at the same time: one via a fast and ultra-adjustable 15W Qi2 charging pad and another via a 10W non-magnetic Qi base that would also work with a second pair of AirPods. The 5W Watch charging pad is certified for fast-charge.

The Hyper Juice Next is the most portable 4-in-1 MagSafe charger we have tested as the iPhone and Watch stand folds down to a flatter, more travel-friendly shape. The 45W power supply also comes with international plug heads for U.S., U.K., E.U. and A.N.Z. There’s also a further USB-C port for input only, but useful if you’d rather not carry the power supply with you on your journey or just want to plug it into an existing multi-port charger at home.

The base is solid but the overall 664g weight might put you off travelling with it in your hand luggage.

Best travel MagSafe wireless chargers

Many multi-device magnetic chargers take the form of elegant and frankly quite bulky stands that are designed to sit on a desk or bedside table/nightstand and stay there. Having a 3-in-1 MagSafe charger that can slip in a pocket, handbag or backpack would be even more useful when traveling between offices, homes or hotels.

Thankfully, there are some truly great 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 travel-friendly portable MagSafe chargers, and we have tested the best of them here.

Power specialist Anker was one of the first companies to release Qi2-compatible chargers, and the foldable Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station is a great example of what the technology can offer.

It charges the iPhone (iPhone 13 and later) at 15W, and is also certified by Apple to fast-charge the Apple Watch, as well as Qi charge AirPods in a wireless charging case–all at the same time.

Anker Ultra Compact 3 in 1 Qi2 Charger folded

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry

It is super compact and folds up into a round pocketable shape that won’t take up much space in a bag or tidied away on your nightstand. It measures 2.36 x 2.36 x 1.4 inches (6 x 6 x 3.6cm) when folded and weighs just 3.8oz (108g). The 5W Watch-charging module folds on the top. The iPhone mostly lays flat, but it can be placed into a more useful StandBy mode as a stand with some folding wizardry.

There are other 3-in-1 foldable charger contenders—for example, the faster 25W Kuxiu X40 Turbo, reviewed below. Anker has a squarer model, the identically named Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1), also reviewed below, which folds more easily into a traditional stand.

With a similar but smaller form, the Twelve South ButterFly SE is an easily pocketable 2-in-1 charger that can handle iPhone and Apple Watch or iPhone and AirPods, charging two devices simultaneously.

It is Qi2 certified, so wirelessly charges the iPhone at 15W and the Watch at 5W. You can get faster 25W wireless charging, but the Butterfly is such a delightful design that we still love it.

Although it looks big next to the tiny Mouse 3-in-1 charger (reviewed above) ESR’s Foldable 3-in-1 is much faster at 25W and actually quite dinky itself at 4.3 x 2.4 x 0.63 inches (11 x 6.2 x 1.6cm).

It’s more plasticky than Ugreen’s equally speedy 25W MagFlow 3-in-1, reviewed above, which might sound unattractive but it means that it’s lighter and therefore much more portable for travel or commuting purposes: 148g compared to 210g for the more metallic Ugreen.

ESR is proud of its CryoBoost active-cooling system, and so it should be as the fan is whisper-quiet but keeps the wireless charging as close to maximum 25W as long as possible.

We love Anker’s more circular folding Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed above. The company also makes a squarer 3-in-1 15W Qi2 foldable charger with, as far as I can work out, exactly the same name and much the same charging features.

It measures about the length and width of a credit card (3.5×2.36 inches; 8.9×6cm) and an inch (2.5cm) deep, weighing 6.9oz (195g). The 5W Watch-charging module is tucked away on the underside and can lie flat or sit up at an angle for Nightstand mode.

The Qi2 pad raises to create a stand for your iPhone, in either portrait or landscape mode for StandBy mode. You can also charge an iPhone with the charger folded and the Qi2 pad on top. You need to unfold it only if you want to charge some AirPods or use the Qi2 pad as a stand.

The ESR 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set is certified by Apple for Apple Watch and Qi2 for 15W iPhone charging. ESR sells a faster 25W model (the 25W CryoBoost Foldable 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Station, see above) but we rather like this plush 15W Travel Set.

The Watch charging part is separate but plugs in once the stand is unfolded; make sure you don’t lose it, though. When folded the charger can be used as a wireless charging pad. The iPhone can be set in either landscape or portrait orientation when the charger is doubling up as a stand.

It’s lightweight and foldable, which makes it a great travel solution if you own iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. The faster Kuxiu X40 Turbo is a more compact package for Apple Watch and iPhone owners because their Watch-charging modules are built-in. The Journey SWIV is about the same weight as the ESR but without the detachable nature of the Watch charger.

It measures 4.5-x-2.6-x-0.63 inches (11.3-x-6.6-x-1.6cm). There’s an optional smart travel case included that fits the charger, cable, Watch attachment and folding charging stand.

The stylish SWIV 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger folds up extremely neatly into a compact and lightweight package that you wouldn’t really notice in a coat pocket. Of course, despite being wireless when charging your devices it still requires a wall charger (not included); it does comes with a USB-C cable.

The MagSafe charger has been updated to 15W Qi2 but is beaten is speed by the 25W chargers, although the Watch does offer 5W fast-charging for your wearable. The Watch module can lie flat or flip up for Nightstand mode—perfect for a bedside table. If you want a 3-in-1 travel charger with a stand, consider the Kuxiu X40 Turbo, reviewed above.

This fun charger has a light around its edge that glows a warm white when charging the Watch and/or AirPods and blue when charging the iPhone. It’s compact when folded and weighs 5.7oz (162g), so works well as an affordable travel accessory.

What it’s not is fast: while some of the chargers we’ve reviewed support iPhone charging at up to 25W, this 3-in-1 is merely MagSafe-Compatible, meaning it charges at a reduced 7.5W. The 3W Apple Watch charger isn’t the requisite 5W for fast Watch charging either.

Best MagSafe charging stands with power banks

Elsewhere we have reviewed the best magnetic battery packs that work with the iPhone 12-17, but if you want something more substantial we’ve tested the best MagSafe charging stands that include a portable power bank but can work as a standard charging station when you’re not out and about.

The Kuxiu K1 is a power bank with a sturdy stand and so can double up as a desktop charger as well as a portable. It comes in two models, the 15W Kuxiu K1 and faster 25W K1 Ultra. Each folds up into a neat pack-of-card size that will fit in your pocket (a large pocket for the 10K models) and twists into a versatile and high-performance multi-Apple-device charger when you need it on your travels or act as a handy iPhone charging stand back at base or in the café.

If you can stretch to the K1 Ultra you’ll future-proof your purchase for iPhones that support 25W charging, although the Ultra is available with the larger 10K battery only.

The Alogic Matrix Ultimate is multi-talented. It can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods wireless charging case at the same time, plus you can detach the iPhone charging pad and take it with you as a power bank. You can also detach the Apple Watch charger and slot that into any charging USB-C port, including that on the power bank.

On top of all that, you can fold the whole thing up and pack it in its own carry case.

Fully certified, it boasts 15W wireless iPhone charging, and can fast-charge a Watch at the same time.

The power bank’s battery capacity is 5000mAh, which in our tests gave us nearly a three-quarter recharge. There are alternatives, such as the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed above, that feature a 10000mAh power bank with much higher recharge potential—but none are rated as fast at charging as the Matrix Ultimate, which also now comes with international plug adapters (U.S., U.K., E.U., AU/NZ).

This is a neat and tidy wireless car charger and vent mount that is the fastest we’ve tested at 25W (for iPhones 16 1nd 17) and charges older iPhones at a still-rapid 15W. 25W should in practice get your iPhone up to a 50% charge in just over half an hour, compared to 45 minutes for 15W, and well over an hour for the older and cheaper chargers at 7.5W.

A ball joint holder’s tail hook clips onto an air vent—you spin the body to determine how much of the clip you need protruding—that can be angled at a 32-degree adjustable tilt.

It has comes with a 3.3-foot (1m) cable, which itself is powered by the included 45W dual-port charger that plugs into the power outlet (aka cigarette lighter port) in the car. The other port is legacy USB-A that can output at 12W.

The charger itself feels robust and stable when its reinforced aluminum hook is securely locked into the car’s air vent blades with a shock-absorbing silicon pad between the charger and the vents, and the strong N52 magnets keep your phone securely in place. That means a less jumpy screen on bumpier roads.

The 360° rotating arm features a precision ball joint that allows for 60° of up-and-down movement, as well as side-to-side adjustability.

Use your iPhone for satnav directions or to have easy access to your playlists in the car with this MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount, which works in both landscape and portrait modes.

It has an integrated USB-C cable, and a 12V car charger adapter for cars that come with USB-A ports.

The magnetic link is strong, which should mean that it can cope with any big bumps in the road. It works best with straight, horizontal vent slats up to 3mm in thickness and 20mm in depth. It does work with vertical slats, but there might be slight movements if the mount is overloaded with weight, says Belkin.

As a dedicated MagSafe-certified 15W car mount, it is expensive compared to some. If you can handle a lower charger rate, the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W does pretty much the same job for a lot less. Or you can buy Spigen’s Mag Fit Phone Holder Car Mount and add Apple’s MagSafe Charger (reviewed above) for pretty much the same 15W result. That product is also available in black, like most car vents.

The MagEZ Car Mount Pro 2 impresses across the board: fast charging, strong hold, and integrated NFC function. No competitor offers a comparable range of functions.

What makes the MagEX Car Mount Pro 2 unique is its built-in NFC support and ability to work with iOS’s Shortcuts app. The NFC chips can trigger a short command when the iPhone is held over them. For example, when getting into the car, the NFC can trigger the iPhone to set the focus to “Do not disturb” and play your favorite music.

Pitaka also offers a version for Tesla Model 3 and Y cars.

While still able to charge at a fast 15W Qi2 chargers are mostly cheaper than the Apple-certified MagSafe—but as Qi2 is based on MagSafe you have nothing to fear choosing this cheaper option.

It comes with a 1m USB-C cable, with USB-A adapter if your car still has that older standard.

You can clip it into the slats on your car’s air vent (ESR says it is compatible with 99% of all cars, which we can’t verify) or you can use the included 3M adhesive mount for a semipermanent attachment to your car’s dashboard—don’t use this on a nice leather or fabric (or curved) dash.

This smart desk mat includes a detachable side strip that includes an adjustable magnetic wireless charging arm for phone and a non-magnetic section to charge your AirPods. Not only is the mat reversible, with smooth, wipeable vegan leather on one side and warmer-feel felt on the other, but you can pull back the mat to stow paper and notes to help reduce clutter. It’s quite a large mat, measuring 28.7 x 14.6 inches (73 x 37cm). The Beige Gray color is actually more of a warm stone tone.

Journey has a range of ALTI charging desk mats but the 15W ALTI Lift is the first to feature a fully rotational flip-up phone stand. The non-Lift basic ALTI—available in four colors—can charge the iPhone only laid flat and at a slower 7.5W. Although costing a little more, we recommend the faster and more adjustable Lift model.

The charging panel connects to the mat with a light magnetic snap, and can be positioned on either side simply by flipping the mat round 180 degrees, depending on whether you are left or right handed. AirPods can be charged at up to 5W. The magnetic fit is strong so you can’t knock it off its charging position with a stray flick of an arm.

Journey

Journey also offers a faster and fancier version of the Alti. The Journey Alti Play offers 15W wireless iPhone charging and cool button-controlled ambient nine-color RGB lighting effects with that will attract gamers or anyone who wants to add some effects to their workspace.

As with the original Alti the magnetic charging panel can be attached to either the right or left side. It does differ in having just one non-reversible side but its fine-weave microfibre lycra cloth surface is designed for a more precise mouse action that will also please gamers. The rubber anti-slip underside keeps the mat firmly in place.

All Alti wireless charging desk mats come with a USB-C cable but require a charger; recommended 30W or higher.

While it comes with a USB-C cable, you’ll need to add your own charger (check our roundup of the best iPhone chargers) to connect with the USB-C port in the sleeve. Alternatively you can charge the MacBook itself while it sits protected in the sleeve—for this you’ll need a more powerful MacBook charger.

Why wireless?

Wireless charging is convenient and fine for situations when you don’t need a super-fast recharge, although the latest 25W wireless chargers are getting close to the power and therefore speed you’ll get from charging via a cable

If you’re leaving your home in 20 minutes and need as much juice as possible, plug in a cable (USB-C for iPhone 15 or later, or Lightning for earlier iPhones) into a USB-C charger (of at least 30W) to power up an iPhone faster than wireless. With 25W wireless chargers you can simply place your iPhone on and know you should be able to charge it to 50% in around 30 minutes.

Wireless charging is less wearing than constantly inserting a cable into your phone, and more reliable as that vulnerable cable port can fill with fluff and dust after all the time spent in your trouser pocket or bag and it’s one of the most common reasons that an iPhone refuses to charge even when connected with a cable. It’s easy to clean with a toothpick (but please do it softly!) but will affect most of us at some time. Read our tips about how to clear dirt and fluff from your iPhone’s charging port.

Wireless charging isn’t affected by the build-up of dust and fluff in the phone port and is also less vulnerable to oxidation and corrosion.

With wireless, you don’t have to remember to run around trying to find who’s taken your charging cable, and it’s certainly a lot neater.

Of course, wireless charging is not really wireless, unless you are using a portable magnetic power bank. The magnetic charger is still connected by a cable to your wall charger; it’s just the connection to the phone that is properly wireless.

What else you need

Some magnetic chargers come with their own wall charger, but most require you to add your own. Apple recommends at least a 20W USB-C power adapter (wall-socket charger) and we agree unless your charger supports 25W wireless charging, in which case go with at least a 30 USB-C charger or higher if it’s a 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 multi-device charger.

We have tested the best iPhone wall chargers to help you choose a recommended solution.

I review tech for a living, and these are the 7 essential tech buys I'd recommend for your summer travels

We're in the midst of (a very hot) summer, and I'm sure many of you out there are raring to go on your travels this season. But if you're about to jet off on your vacation, then it's best to be as prepared as possible. And you know what you need to make your travels as seamless and enjoyable as possible? Some top-tier tech.

I'm a Senior Reviews Writer here at TechRadar, and have tested hundreds of gadgets over the years, from premium noise-cancelling headphones through to power banks and misting fans. So, I've got the lowdown on all the travel tech essentials you need to make this summer one to remember — for all the right reasons, of course.

I've included seven must-haves, with a small speaker, travel chargers, and even a compact clothes steamer on the list. Everything here has either been tested by me, or someone on the TechRadar team, so I'm confident that each item will serve you well on your adventures this summer and beyond. So, without further ado, let's dive right into my top picks!

1. Noise cancelling headphones: Sony WH-1000XM6

Man using the Sony WH-1000XM6

Oh look, it's me wearing the Sony WH-1000XM6! (Image credit: Future)

Ah, Sony WH-1000XM6, my beloved. These are, in my view — and the view of many at TechRadar — the best headphones you can buy right now.

The XM6 have it all. Class-leading active noise cancellation works great, even on flights with jet rumbles and screaming children. They sound incredible, with brilliant balance across the frequency range, as well as plenty of low-end punch and excitement to make energetic tunes sound their best. And they're foldable too, making them incredibly compact when you're on the move.

These come with a handy magnetic carry case, 30 hours of battery life, and excellent touch controls. Sony's Sound Connect app also makes it easy to tailor sound to your liking and make any subtle changes you need. They're simply the best, but I'll let you find that out for yourself.

2. Small speaker: JBL Go 5

Person holding the JBL Go 5 by its strap

This small speaker is ideal for getting ready or listening to tunes by the beach (Image credit: Future)

The JBL Go 5 launched recently, and when I reviewed it, the speaker genuinely took my breath away.

It's exactly how to do an upgrade right, offering better sound, a more flashy design, and even better durability than its already impressive predecessor, the JBL Go 4. I love its edge lighting, its well-balanced sound with clean bass and rich mids, and also its broad feature set, which includes EQ options and multi-speaker pairing.

Despite improving on what its predecessor had to offer, the Go 5 is available at a very similar price, typically coming in at around the $55 / £40 mark, and if you need excellent sound, solid battery life, and high level (IP68) waterproofing on a budget, then it's the best small Bluetooth speaker to buy right now.

3. Power bank: Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W

Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W Built-In Retractable USB-C Cable against pink background

With an integrated cable and speedy charging, this power bank is ideal for on-the-go use (Image credit: Future)

I genuinely bring this Anker power bank with me everywhere. It's the definitive portable battery for travel for a few key reasons.

The first is its size. This model is absolutely tiny and can easily slip into a pocket or small bag, no problem. Second, it's incredibly practical. There's an integrated USB-C cable, making charging on the go totally seamless. And finally, it's a fantastic performer. That 45W max wattage means fast-charging is easily accessible on even some of the best phones.

A 10,000mAh capacity should also mean it can charge a pair of wireless headphones as well as your handset, so if you want an ultra-practical, lightweight power bank to bring on the go, the Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W is my number one recommendation.

4. Travel charger: Anker Nano Charger 45W with USB-C Cable

Anker Nano Charger 45W with USB-C Cable balanced on top of block

It's compact, high-performing, and even comes with a USB-C cable (Image credit: Future)

If you need a travel charger for your phone, tablets, and wireless earbuds, then look no further than the Anker Nano Charger 45W, which comes with a USB-C cable in the box — a nice touch!

I've used this one a lot myself, and it's great for travel. Why? Well, it's incredibly compact and packs in quite a bit of power, meaning you can make use of fast charging without lugging a massive brick around. If you're using a travel adapter, the model's low weight also means it won't awkwardly get weighed down or stick out, which is a huge plus.

This charger is well-built, foldable — helping it to slide into your pocket — and highly affordable. It really has it all, so if you're still using a slow charger, then take things up a notch with this awesome Anker alternative.

5. Portable fan: Shark ChillPill

In the UK, it's absolutely scorching right now. It feels like I'm fighting for my life here with the combination of high humidity and near record-breaking temperature. And when you're on your summer travels, I'd wager that it will be similarly blazing in a number of countries. What you need, then, is a portable fan.

We're big... fans... of the Shark ChillPill here at TechRadar, and awarded it a 4.5 star review recently. It has good battery life, is filled with a range of cooling options, and even has a mister for when you need a healthy blast of cold.

The build and design quality is strong here too, and the straightforward controls make it a joy to use. Yes, it's a little expensive, but we've seen it pop up on sale from time to time, so if you want to stay chilled on the move, then I'd strongly suggest picking this lil' gadget up.

OK, so not everyone will need this, but if, like me, your facial hair seems to grow back in the blink of an eye, the Philips Shaver S9000 Prestige will be a great addition to your travel tech arsenal.

With multiple speed settings to suit your desired sensitivity, wet and dry shaving versatility, interchangeable heads (including a beard trimmer), and spectacular handling, the S9000 Prestige is a true all-rounder.

This model also has solid battery life and I rarely need to juice it up. But it comes with a wireless charging pad for when you're running low on power. There's also a cleaning device thrown in the box, and a carry case for whenever you're on the move.

I've found that the S9000 Prestige is kind on my skin, which is pretty prone to razor burn, and its flexible foil shaver is great at getting into those hard to reach areas around the nose, for instance. It launched at a fairly high price, but you can regularly swipe it up on sale now, so why not give it a go?

7. Clothes steamer: various options

OK, in all honesty, I've not actually got a travel clothes steamer, but when some colleagues of mine heard that I was writing this piece, they were clear that it's a must have.

After all, how many times have you been on holiday or out on a business trip and realized that our garments look a little creased? For me, it's a few times too many. With a compact clothes steamer, you can wave goodbye to pesky creases and wrinkles in a flash.

So, I have a few recommendations from the team that I'm here to share with you. For our US readers, Managing Editor of News & Deals, Jacob Krol, suggests the Conair Handheld Garment Steamer. This affordable model boasts "turbo steam power," comes with a 3-in-1 attachment, and has a water tank that's good for 20 minutes of steaming. Not bad, eh?

Over the pond, our Managing Editor of Social & Engagement, Josephine Watson, had a couple of recommendations. The first, the Tefal Pure Pop Slim Handheld, is cheap, comes in a range of funky colors, and heats up in just 15 seconds for super speedy action. Josephine told me that her bridesmaid friend bought this model in order to save a wedding dress disaster — and luckily, it worked. Talk about coming in clutch.

Josephine also recommended the Russell Hobbs Steam Genie 2in1 Handheld, even claiming she would trade her firstborn for it. Pretty high praise. This model has a 150ml water tank, can heat up nice and swiftly, and claims to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria within 60 seconds.
