$AAPL bate novo recorde e Apple reassume o posto de empresa mais valiosa do mundo

27 July 2026 at 21:16

Pela quinta vez só neste mês, as ações da Apple [$AAPL] voltaram a alcançar uma nova máxima histórica após abrirem esta semana com uma alta de 1,17%. Agora, elas valem US$336,91 — o penúltimo recorde, vale lembrar, foi de US$333,74 e havia sido registrado no último dia 17/7.

Apple stock surges over 3% on analyst upgrades, China AI approval, and pre-earnings optimism

24 July 2026 at 22:30

Stock chart

Apple shares surged roughly 3.53% on Friday, closing at $333.02 after closing the prior day at $321.66. This moved the stock closer to recent record highs and pushed its market cap at $4.891 trillion.

Main drivers

Several factors appear to have fueled the move amid a mixed-to-weaker broader market (with pressure on some chip and other tech stocks):

• Analyst support and price target increases: Multiple firms issued positive notes. Robert W. Baird raised its target to $330 from $310 (Outperform). Morgan Stanley lifted its target to $364 from $360 (Overweight), citing expectations that fiscal Q3 results (due July 30) could modestly beat consensus. HSBC upgraded to Buy with a $366 target. These reinforced confidence in Apple’s fundamentals ahead of earnings.

• Apple Intelligence progress in China: Reports of successful regulatory registration/approval for Apple’s generative AI features in China (partnering with local firms such as Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen as a core model and Baidu secondarily) boosted sentiment. China remains a key market, and clearer access for on-device AI features is viewed as a meaningful long-term positive for services and hardware demand.

• AI strategy and pre-earnings optimism: Investors continue to favor Apple’s relatively capital-efficient, on-device AI approach (lower data-center spending than many peers). This has helped the stock outperform in recent weeks even as other big tech names face higher capex scrutiny. Anticipation of the July 30 earnings report (consensus roughly around $1.88–$1.89 EPS and ~$109 billion revenue, with solid year-over-year growth expected) added to the buying interest.

Recent product-cycle optimism (including the broader Mac refresh pipeline reported earlier in the week) and Apple’s overall ecosystem strength have provided a supportive backdrop, but today’s jump was more directly tied to the analyst actions, China AI milestone, and earnings positioning.

MacDailyNews Take: Stock moves can reverse quickly, and no single factor is ever the sole cause. Apple has not issued company-specific news today that appears to be the primary catalyst. Earnings on July 30th, whcih we will, as usual cover with live notes, will be Apple’s next major test.

HSBC upgrades Apple to Buy, raises price target to $366 ahead of Q3 earnings

23 July 2026 at 19:00

Beige Apple logo on beige

HSBC has become the latest Wall Street firm to show increased confidence in Apple upgrading the stock from Hold to Buy and raising its price target to $366 from $260.

Analyst Nicolas Cote-Colisson cited Apple’s “operational turning point,” improving iPhone demand, and a promising AI-driven product cycle as key factors behind the upgrade. The new target implies roughly 10-12% upside from recent trading levels around $325–$333.

“Apple is at an inflection point with a strong cycle ahead,” the note indicated, pointing to better-than-expected hardware momentum, services resilience, and the upcoming rollout of enhanced Apple Intelligence features. HSBC also outlined a blue-sky scenario that could push the target even higher if AI execution exceeds expectations.

This move follows several other recent analyst actions in July 2026:

• Citi raised its price target to $365 from $315 (Buy rating) on July 13, emphasizing market share gains and AI upside.

• KeyBanc downgraded the stock to Underweight with a $250 target on July 14, a more cautious outlier view.

• Earlier in the month, JPMorgan lifted its target to $345.

The adjustments come as investors gear up for Apple’s fiscal third-quarter earnings on July 30, 2026. Analysts will be watching iPhone sales trends, services growth, gross margins, and forward guidance into the fall launch season.

The consensus on AAPL is a Moderate Buy, with an average price target around $325–$330 across 30+ analysts. Bullish firms continue to highlight Apple’s ecosystem strength and AI potential as drivers for a multi-year growth story.

Apple shares have shown resilience in 2026, up significantly year-to-date, though they remain sensitive to macroeconomic factors and competition in premium smartphones.

MacDailyNews Take: KeyBanc is regularly wrong on Apple, so their recent downgrade is actually yet another positive sign for AAPL.

Will Ternus split AAPL? Apple stock split buzz returns near record highs

23 July 2026 at 15:00

Apple price target

With Apple shares trading near all-time highs around $326, fresh speculation about a potential stock split has resurfaced. While the company has not announced any plans, the upcoming leadership transition adds a new dimension to the discussion.

Apple announced in April 2026 that Tim Cook will step down as CEO on August 31 and transition to Executive Chairman, with John Ternus (currently Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering) taking over as CEO effective September 1, 2026. This marks the most significant leadership change at Apple in over 15 years.

Could the CEO Transition Influence a Split?

Analysts and investors are debating whether the smooth handover could accelerate or delay a split:

• Potential catalyst: A new CEO often seeks early wins to build momentum. A stock split would be a low-risk, high-visibility move that signals confidence and appeals to retail investors — especially as Ternus begins his tenure.

• Likely timing: Most observers expect any decision to wait until after the transition settles (late 2026 or 2027), once Ternus has established his priorities around AI, hardware innovation, and Mac refreshes.

• Continuity advantage: With Cook remaining as Executive Chairman, the board is expected to maintain strong oversight, reducing any perceived risk around major shareholder-friendly actions.

Apple has not split its stock since the 4-for-1 in August 2020. With fractional-share trading now widespread, the urgency is lower than in the past, but a split could still broaden accessibility and create psychological tailwinds.

Apple’s stock has performed strongly in 2026, rebounding from a weaker 2025 and recently approaching record levels. Solid services growth, ongoing buybacks, and AI/hardware momentum (including upcoming Mac lineup overhauls) have supported the rally — all without a split.

Historically, Apple splits (1987, 2000, 2005, 2014, 2020) have often coincided with periods of optimism and growth. A future split under Ternus could similarly project confidence in the company’s long-term trajectory.

MacDailyNews Take: The Cook-to-Ternus transition is unlikely to hinder a stock split and could even encourage one as an early signal of confidence under the new leadership. That said, Apple tends to be deliberate, so any move would likely prioritize substance over optics.

While a split (even a modest 2-for-1 or 3-for-1) could project optimism and attract more retail interest, Apple’s fundamentals (robust cash reserves, ongoing innovation, and execution on AI/hardware roadmaps) appear to be driving the stock’s current momentum without one. Splits are cosmetic in terms of intrinsic value but have historically aligned with growth phases. Investors should watch for any board signals or SEC filings, but the lack of a split hasn’t held back the rebound in 2026.

Apple’s split history:

• June 16, 1987: 2-for-1
• June 21, 2000: 2-for-1
• February 28, 2005: 2-for-1
• June 9, 2014: 7-for-1
• August 31, 2020: 4-for-1

BofA bullish on Apple: Expects earnings beat on July 30 and reiterates $380 price target

20 July 2026 at 18:00

Apple logo

Bank of America expects Apple to surpass Wall Street expectations when it reports fiscal third-quarter results on July 30, marking Tim Cook’s final earnings call as CEO.

In a note released Monday, BofA analyst Wamsi Mohan maintained a Buy rating on the stock and a $380 price target. The firm is modeling revenue of $109 billion and earnings per share (EPS) of $1.89, comfortably ahead of consensus estimates of $108 billion in revenue and $1.87 in EPS. That would represent approximately 16% year-over-year revenue growth, exceeding Apple’s own guidance range of 14-17%.

Investor attention heading into the report is likely to focus on three key areas: component cost inflation, the durability of gross margins, and the implications of Cook’s departure from the CEO role.

BofA noted that product gross margins are expected to decline sequentially in both the June and September quarters due to the staggered launch schedule of the next iPhone lineup. Pro, Pro Max, and Fold models are slated for September, while the base model and Air are not expected until March. The firm views the near-term margin pressure as “transitory,” forecasting a rebound to 38.5% in the December quarter as the new devices launch at higher prices.

On the services side, BofA projects 14% year-over-year growth in the third quarter. While App Store revenue growth has slowed to 3.2% from 9.8% in the previous quarter, the firm anticipates strength in iCloud and Licensing to more than offset the slowdown.

MacDailyNews Note: Looking further ahead, the bank adopted a more cautious stance for the second half of calendar 2026. It modeled fourth-quarter revenue at $106 billion and EPS at $1.88, below Street forecasts of $114 billion and $2.01, citing potential volatility from the new split iPhone launch cadence.

Despite the tempered longer-term outlook, BofA’s overall message remains positive, reinforcing confidence in Apple’s ability to deliver a solid beat in the upcoming report.

Apple reclaims title as World’s Most Valuable Company

17 July 2026 at 15:00

Apple logo

Apple has once again become the world’s most valuable publicly traded company, surpassing Nvidia in a notable shift that reflects evolving investor priorities in the artificial intelligence era.

With a market capitalization of approximately $4.88 trillion, Apple edged past Nvidia, which stood at roughly $4.86 trillion following a 3.5% decline in its shares. This marks the first time Apple has reclaimed the top spot since April 2025, highlighting a broader rotation away from pure AI infrastructure plays toward companies with proven ecosystems and more durable revenue streams.

The move underscores growing confidence in Apple’s strategy. While the company was once viewed as lagging in the generative AI race due to more modest spending on foundational models, investors are now rewarding its focus on practical integration, services growth, and hardware upgrades. Apple’s upgraded Siri assistant, rolled out last month, aims to leverage the vast personal data within its privacy-focused iOS ecosystem to deliver more intelligent and personalized experiences.

“Apple is less exposed to the capital expenditure intensity plaguing some AI leaders and is better positioned to monetize AI through its services, ecosystem lock-in, and recurring hardware cycles,” analysts told Reuters. This re-rating emphasizes earnings stability over speculative upside.

The development arrives as CEO Tim Cook prepares to transition leadership to hardware expert John Ternus in September. It could frame Cook’s tenure positively, showcasing Apple’s ability to adapt and maintain dominance even as the tech landscape shifts.

Nvidia, which briefly became the first company to exceed $5 trillion in valuation last October, remains a powerhouse. Its GPUs continue to fuel the majority of the AI boom. However, today’s reversal signals that market leadership is fluid, with investors broadening their focus beyond chipmakers amid concerns over high AI spending levels.

Apple is not without challenges. Recent price hikes on products to counter rising costs could impact demand in price-sensitive markets. Still, its resilient Services segment and loyal user base provide a strong buffer.

What This Means Moving Forward

• For Investors: The race between Apple and Nvidia highlights the importance of diversified AI exposure — infrastructure (Nvidia) versus application and consumer integration (Apple).

• Market Implications: Expect continued volatility as sentiment swings between AI capex winners and consumer tech giants.

MacDailyNews Take: Apple’s return to the summit reaffirms its enduring strength in consumer technology. While Nvidia could reclaim the lead quickly if AI enthusiasm reignites, today’s milestone celebrates a company that has repeatedly proven its ability to innovate and lead through cycles. In the AI-driven future, Apple’s blend of hardware, software, and services may prove to be the most valuable combination of all.

U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) drops in June, signaling easing inflation pressures

15 July 2026 at 15:00

U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) drops in June, signaling easing inflation pressures

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its Producer Price Index (PPI) data for June 2026 today, showing a 0.3% decline in the index for final demand on a seasonally adjusted basis. This marks a reversal from the 0.6% rise in May and the stronger 1.1% increase in April. U.S. inflation is coming down.

On a year-over-year basis, producer prices rose 5.5% through June, down from the recent peak of 6.5% in May. This moderation comes amid cooling energy prices and could provide some relief to businesses and consumers facing persistent inflationary pressures.

Key Breakdowns from the June Report

• Goods prices led the decline, falling 1.4% in June — the largest drop since July 2022. Energy prices plunged 6.4%, with gasoline down 12.0%, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and crude petroleum also posting notable decreases.

• Food prices for final demand edged down 0.6%.

• Goods less foods and energy (a core measure) actually rose modestly by 0.2%.

• Services prices increased 0.2%, supported by gains in trade services margins (up 0.4%), including a sharp 13.0% jump in fuels and lubricants retailing. Transportation and warehousing services dipped slightly by 0.1%.

The index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services — often watched as a core gauge — rose just 0.1% in June after a stronger 0.8% gain in May. Year-over-year, this core measure increased 5.1%.

What’s Driving the Decline?

The drop aligns with falling global oil prices in recent weeks, which have rippled through the supply chain. Energy categories, which had fueled earlier PPI gains (notably from Middle East tensions boosting costs earlier in the year), reversed course. This pullback in wholesale prices could eventually feed into lower consumer prices in the coming months, though services inflation remains sticky.

Implications for the Federal Reserve and Markets

This softer-than-expected PPI reading arrives on the same day as other inflation data and comes as the Fed monitors progress toward its 2% target. While headline producer inflation has cooled from its recent highs, the year-over-year figure remains elevated compared to pre-pandemic norms. Policymakers will likely view the energy-driven decline positively, but persistent services and core pressures suggest caution on rate cuts.

For businesses, lower input costs (especially energy) could help margins. Consumers may see relief at the pump and eventually in goods prices, though everyday services like healthcare, housing-related costs, and certain retail margins continue to trend upward.

Looking Ahead

The June PPI data suggests inflation is not accelerating, but the path to sustainably lower levels remains uneven. Markets will now turn to upcoming CPI releases and other indicators for a fuller picture. Keep an eye on energy markets — any rebound in oil prices could quickly reverse these gains.

Combined with yesterday’s CPI data decline (see below), the PPI data supports a story of disinflation under the Trump administration. This is likely helpful to Republicans heading into the midterm elections, as voters generally reward perceived economic competence.

U.S. CPI data (July 14, 2026) showed a notable decline:

• Monthly change: -0.4% (biggest monthly drop since April 2020)
• Annual inflation rate: 3.5% (down from 4.2% in May)
• Core CPI (excluding food & energy): Unchanged (0.0%) in June, down from +0.2% in May
• Core annual rate: 2.6% (down from 2.9% in May)

This is net positive for Apple’s long-term outlook. Tech giants like Apple tend to be among the biggest winners when inflation cools enough for the Fed to cut rates without triggering a recession. Wall Street will likely view this data favorably for growth stocks like AAPL.

Citi hikes Apple price target to $365; bullish on market share gains and pricing power

13 July 2026 at 16:00

Stock chart

On Monday, Citi raised its price target on Apple to $365 from $315 while maintaining its Buy rating. The move reflects stronger margin expectations and rolled-forward financial estimates amid what the bank sees as Apple’s continued resilience in a tough environment for devices.

Apple shares were trading at new all-time highs in Monday morning trading, as investors digested the positive commentary ahead of the company’s upcoming earnings report. Citi remains constructive on the stock, highlighting Apple’s ability to gain market share even as broader smartphone and PC markets face headwinds.

Outperforming a Declining Market

Citi notes that smartphone and PC markets are likely to decline by mid-to-high teens percent. Despite this, Apple is positioned to outperform. According to the note:“continues to outperform the broader smartphone market through share gains, design-driven demand, and strong positioning in the mid-range price segment via promotions and subsidies.”

The firm also stated that Apple “should continue gaining market share despite a slowing devices market.”

Pricing Power and Margin Protection

A key driver behind the higher price target is Apple’s demonstrated ability to implement selective price increases. Citi observed that Apple raised prices on several products mid-quarter amid rising component costs and is evaluating additional memory suppliers to diversify its supply chain.

While iPhone prices remain unchanged for now, Citi expects price increases in the upcoming September launch cycle:“with more focus likely on the higher end models where demand is more resilient.”

The bank also flagged an expected foldable iPhone launch in the fourth calendar quarter. These factors support higher margin expectations following recent price increases.

AI Outlook: Measured Near-Term, Optimistic Longer-Term

On Apple Intelligence, Citi takes a pragmatic view. The note states that Apple Intelligence is:“unlikely to drive a significant upgrade cycle in the near term.”

However, the bank sees meaningful longer-term potential from enhanced Siri AI capabilities, which should increase user engagement and support growth in high-margin services revenue.

September Launch as Key Catalyst

Citi identifies the September iPhone launch as:“an important catalyst that could further strengthen investor sentiment.”

This event is viewed as a potential positive for both hardware momentum and overall investor confidence.

Services Growth: iCloud and Advertising in Focus

On the services side, Citi notes that Sensor Tower data showed App Store revenue in the June quarter grew just 3% year-over-year — tracking below company guidance. That said, the bank views iCloud and advertising as stronger drivers for future revenue growth.

Citi’s raised price target to $365 reflects a combination of:

• Continued market share gains in a challenging devices environment
• Ability to protect and expand margins through selective pricing
• Rolled-forward estimates and stronger margin expectations

MacDailyNews Take: Citi’s note underscores Apple’s structural advantages — brand strength, ecosystem lock-in, and pricing power — even as near-term AI-driven upgrade cycles remain limited.

Apple agora vale US$4,9 trilhões; empresa ultrapassou a NVIDIA brevemente em valor de mercado

17 July 2026 at 22:01
