Qualcomm Inc. said it is acquiring Modular Inc., for about $3.9 billion in stock, adding artificial intelligence software capabilities that will aid its push into data centers.

Cerebras Systems Inc. shares plunged in early trading after the newly public chipmaker gave an annual sales forecast that disappointed investors who were expecting the company to carve out a bigger slice of the AI data center market.
