Greenpeace International is arguing under Dutch law that an American pipeline company, Energy Transfer, sought to silence it with a costly lawsuit in North Dakota.

The lawsuit argues that it is illegal to pay the French energy giant TotalEnergies $795 million to cancel a planned wind farm off New York.

The changes, after Meta’s legal losses in two child safety cases, are aimed at limiting harmful content shown to teenagers on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.

The state became the first to sue the ChatGPT maker over claims that its technology posed a risk to children and that the company had failed to warn the public of dangers.

The regulation would have required all publicly traded companies to disclose whether they faced significant risks from climate change and its effects.
