(Sponsor) Rogue Amoeba’s SoundSource: Play Any App’s Audio, Anywhere You Want
Rogue Amoeba, leading the way in Mac audio software.
Rogue Amoeba marks their 24th year of independent Mac software development this month. They’re celebrating with Six Colors readers, who can save 24% on SoundSource, or anything else they make. Just use discount code SIXCOLORS24 in their store, through the end of September.
SoundSource has become one of their most popular apps, covering a wealth of things MacOS doesn’t do on its own. SoundSource gives you powerful control of your Mac’s audio right in your menu bar, with per-app volume and effects, as well as output re-routing. Send Safari to your desk speakers, and Music to your headphones, at the same time. And those real-time effects can be applied to any app’s audio, or all audio together.
The new AirPlay support in SoundSource 6 is a standout, too: while MacOS can set a single AirPlay device as your default output, SoundSource can stream audio from any app on your Mac to AirPlay devices around your home. Combine that with its ability to group output devices to put one app’s audio on AirPlay speakers in multiple rooms, while everything else stays on your Mac.
There’s a fully functional free trial available from Rogue Amoeba’s website. It’s also worth noting that all of Rogue Amoeba’s app are already updated for compatibility with MacOS 27 (Golden Gate).
Many thanks to Rogue Amoeba for sponsoring Six Colors. Don’t forget: use discount code SIXCOLORS24 on their store this month to save with a long-time indie developer.
