Pakistan has blamed Britain for "grooming" and "spoiling" the ringleader of the Rochdale rape gang and turning him to crime, claiming he has "no connection to Pakistan whatsoever".

London will be among the first areas investigated by a national inquiry into grooming gangs, alongside Oldham, Bradford and Keighley. Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan previously denied that such gangs operate in the capital.
