Tannic acid as a multifunctional bridge driving structural ordering and surface passivation of ZnO for over 20% efficiency inverted solar cells with improved stability

Energy Environ. Sci., 2026, 19,3834-3844
DOI: 10.1039/D6EE01017B, Paper
Yurong He, Wentao Miao, Jianhua Han, Wenyang Luo, Zhuang Li, Jin Chen, Liangliang Chen, Xunchang Wang, Renqiang Yang
Tannic acid, a natural polyphenol, reduces structural disorder and passivates surface defects in ZnO transport layers, leading to a record efficiency of 20.1% in inverted organic solar cells and extending the device lifetime from 93 to 2808 hours.

Unraveling oxygen vacancy-driven catalytic hydrogen evolution activity and stability over atomic layer-deposited platinum cluster catalysts

Energy Environ. Sci., 2026, 19,3358-3368
DOI: 10.1039/D5EE07690K, Paper
Xinshuo Zhao, Xiangbin Kong, Ruokun Zhang, Hao Xu, Jiawei Yao, Yutong Feng, Yurong He, Yong Qin, Jiankang Zhang
Independent modulation of the oxygen vacancy (Ov) concentration in MoO3βˆ’x is achieved while preserving a nearly unchanged Pt particle size, and a clear volcano-shape relationship between Ov concentration and catalytic activity is established.
